12 Major Trade Shows in Houston to Consider in 2027

Houston gives exhibitors access to energy, offshore engineering, trucking, construction and large consumer markets, but the city name alone does not tell you which event deserves your budget. If your company sells subsea equipment, fleet software or vehicle accessories, you need different buyers and a different kind of product proof. This guide compares 12 Houston trade shows by 2027 date, audience, recent scale and the result an exhibitor can realistically pursue at each one.

2027 Houston Trade Show Calendar at a Glance

Eleven events below have clear 2027 dates. Valve World Americas has two conflicting dates on its own official pages, so it remains on the list with a verification warning. The scale figures are not a ranking: public grounds attendance, professional attendance and companies represented measure different things.

Twelve Houston Events Worth Comparing for 2027

1. Houston Auto Show + Houston Boat Show — January 27–31, 2027

Visitors explore vehicle and boat exhibits on the Houston Auto Show floor.

The Houston Auto Show and Houston Boat Show create a public product-comparison environment. Visitors can inspect cars, trucks, electric vehicles and boats, speak with brand representatives and explore ride-and-drive or related attraction programs. That makes the event useful when seeing, entering or trying the product moves someone closer to a dealer or purchase decision.

The 2027 edition will be the 44th Houston Auto Show and the third year in which it is combined with the longstanding Boat Show. The organizer lists a $20 general-admission ticket. That price tells you this is a paid consumer event; it says nothing about exhibit cost or professional buyer quality.

This distinction should shape the plan. A vehicle brand may need model comparison, passenger access and a dealer handoff. An accessory supplier needs compatibility to be readable without a long explanation. Finance, insurance and service providers need a fast qualification path. A company selling industrial production equipment to automakers would be in the wrong buying environment, even if attendance is strong.

The five-day run also changes staffing. Product specialists, sales representatives and dealer partners need agreed ownership of each inquiry before the doors open. Otherwise, visitors can have a useful conversation at the stand and still leave without a clear local next step.

2. NAPE Summit — February 3–5, 2027

Energy professionals network on the NAPE Summit exhibition floor in Houston.

NAPE is a better choice when the offer itself is a deal, data asset or transaction service. The 2027 NAPE Summit brings together companies buying, selling and trading energy prospects and producing properties, alongside capital providers, legal and land services, software, data and operational support.

The organizer reports that 3,500-plus companies were represented at the 2026 Summit and that 74% of attendees were decision-makers. It also says 90% of exhibitors intend to renew for 2027. These are organizer figures, but together they reveal the event's center of gravity: access to companies and deal participants matters more than a conventional product-display audience.

That can make a small, meeting-led presence more valuable than a large demonstration area. Maps, prospect data, financial structure and the team members authorized to discuss a transaction should be easy to reach. A service provider should show where it enters the deal process and what information it needs next. By contrast, a manufacturer whose main strength is a working machine may get more from OTC, The Bearing Show or another event where physical performance is part of the evaluation.

The expo itself lasts about 1.5 days under the current badge structure. Use that compressed window to decide which accounts require scheduled meetings and which conversations can begin on the floor. NAPE's 2027 exhibitor toolkit already provides the George R. Brown show-site shipping address, so the event belongs in an active 2027 plan rather than a tentative watchlist.

3. Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America — February 10–11, 2027

Attendees meet exhibitors at Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America in Houston.

Carbon Capture Technology Expo North America is a focused Houston event for companies working in carbon capture, transport, storage, utilization and the systems that connect those stages. It is worth considering when your buyers include CCUS engineers, project developers, energy producers or heavy-industry teams that can evaluate a defined deployment role. A company with only a broad sustainability message will find the audience much harder to convert.

The organizer currently promotes 400-plus exhibitors, 100-plus speakers and 7,000-plus attendees across five conference tracks. It also runs the event alongside Hydrogen Technology Expo. Those figures describe the organizer's current 2027 proposition, not a completed attendance result, but they signal a broad mix of engineering companies, technology manufacturers, energy producers, heavy industry, chemical companies, researchers, consultants and government bodies.

Visitors are likely to arrive with a specific part of the CCUS chain in mind, so the technical claim must survive the next question. Monitoring equipment should connect the measurement to the decision it supports. Materials and components need a clear operating range and system interface. Engineering services should distinguish feasibility, design, execution and monitoring responsibilities.

The event is more direct than a broad executive energy conference when the objective is to discuss deployment with technical and project stakeholders. It is less suitable when the company only wants top-level policy visibility and has no defined CCUS application.

4. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo — March 2–21, 2027

A visitor browses a commercial exhibit at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is a long-running public event that combines agriculture, livestock programs, Western culture, entertainment, food and retail. It can work for approved exhibitors selling Western apparel, agriculture-facing products, food or consumer offers with a credible Texas or rural-market connection. A specialized industrial supplier looking for plant engineers should not treat it as a B2B sourcing show.

The event has the largest recent public-attendance figure in this article. Official 2026 attendance records show 2,621,765 visits across all activities on the grounds, while the organization reports 38,600 livestock and horse-show entries. Neither number is a count of commercial buyers, but both show the scale and duration of the public environment an approved vendor must be prepared to serve.

Access is a real filter. The Rodeo's commercial exhibits program reviews applications rather than allocating space on a first-come basis, and the 2027 commercial-exhibit application was already closed when this guide was checked. That makes category eligibility and application timing the first decision—well before booth design.

If the program fits, prepare for retail pace and a 20-day show rather than a two-day expo. Inventory, replenishment, staffing rotation and local fulfillment can affect results more than an elaborate structure. The best visual is the one that makes the approved product category recognizable quickly and helps visitors complete the next action without blocking the aisle.

5. The Bearing Show North America — March 9–10, 2027

Bearing industry professionals network on The Bearing Show exhibition floor.

The Bearing Show is narrow by design, and that is its advantage. A bearing supplier does not have to spend the first minute explaining why friction, lubrication, load, contamination or condition monitoring matters; the audience already works in that problem space.

The Bearing Show North America lists March 9–10, 2027, in Hall D at George R. Brown Convention Center. The organizer currently expects 125-plus exhibitors and 2,000 professionals, with Lubricant Expo running alongside it. Its audience spans bearing manufacturers, OEMs, distributors, supply-chain companies and end users, including R&D, engineering and procurement roles.

That audience will reward a controlled comparison. A cutaway can reveal sealing and lubrication paths. A monitoring system can connect an actual sensor to a diagnostic output. Samples can compare materials, finishes or failure patterns without asking visitors to read a catalogue first. The goal is to make one engineering difference inspectable, then keep verified specifications close enough to answer the next question.

This show becomes less compelling when the product cannot be tied to bearing performance, lubrication, reliability or the surrounding manufacturing chain. A broad automation offer may reach more relevant systems buyers elsewhere. The smaller specialist floor is valuable only when its shared technical language shortens your sales explanation.

6. Offshore Technology Conference — May 3–5, 2027

A wide view of the Offshore Technology Conference exhibition floor in Houston.

OTC is the clearest starting point in Houston for suppliers that need access to a broad offshore and multi-energy project ecosystem. The 2027 Offshore Technology Conference is scheduled for May 3–5 at Reliant Park, with the exhibition in NRG Center and URTeC co-located. Exhibitors can also review our Offshore Technology Conference booth rental service for exhibit planning.

The current event page presents an audience of 25,000 energy professionals and more than 166,000 square feet of exhibit space. These are 2027 organizer figures, not a post-show audit. Their decision value lies in breadth: operators, engineering companies, technology providers, researchers and project partners can enter the same event, but they may evaluate the same product from different positions in the project.

That is why one machine on the floor is not automatically a demonstration. A subsea component may need a cutaway, material basis and connection context. Digital technology needs an identifiable operational problem, data path and result. Engineering services should show where responsibility begins and ends across a project stage. Bring someone who can handle application questions; handing every technical inquiry to a later follow-up wastes the rare moment when several stakeholders are standing together.

OTC is not automatically the best Houston energy event. NAPE is more direct for prospects and dealmaking. IMAGE is more concentrated around geoscience and subsurface work. Valve World is narrower for flow control. Choose OTC when the value of the offer increases by being discussed across the wider project chain.

7. Texas Trucking Show — June 5–6, 2027

Trucks, parts booths and visitors fill the Texas Trucking Show floor in Houston.

For products sold through fleets, shops, owner-operators or regional trucking networks, the Texas Trucking Show may produce a more usable audience than a larger national industrial event. The organizer confirms June 5–6, 2027, in NRG Center's Halls C and D and promotes more than 300 participating companies.

Admission is free to people in the trucking industry. That lowers the barrier to attendance and supports reach, but it does not guarantee that every visitor controls a fleet budget. The exhibit therefore has to work for different levels of authority without becoming vague.

A replacement part should answer fit and availability. A maintenance product should show the task it shortens and the conditions in which it is used. Fleet software needs a short operating workflow rather than a dashboard montage. Insurance, finance and driver services need a qualification route that does not hold up visitors who only want basic information.

The regional setting is especially useful when service coverage matters. Before exhibiting, define what happens after a Texas-based fleet asks for installation, stock, training or support. A national promise with no operational handoff can turn strong interest into weak follow-up.

8. ILTA Conference & Trade Show — June 7–9, 2027

Terminal industry exhibitors and attendees meet on the ILTA trade show floor.

ILTA is not simply another oil-and-gas show. It concentrates on liquid terminals: storage, transfer, operations, engineering, safety, inspection and the infrastructure that keeps facilities running. For a supplier selling into that environment, job-function relevance can matter more than the total size of a broad energy exhibition.

The International Liquid Terminals Association has confirmed its June 7–9, 2027 Conference & Trade Show in Houston, although the exact 2027 venue was not yet published on the event page when this article was checked. As recent context, the 2026 edition promoted more than 4,500 industry professionals and 320 exhibitors. Keep the year attached to those figures.

Terminal equipment, automation, vapor control, tank systems, inspection, maintenance and safety technology all have a natural reason to be here. The exhibit should connect a product to an operating responsibility: fewer manual steps, clearer inspection evidence, safer access or better control of a transfer point. Broad claims such as “improves efficiency” are too far from the daily decisions made inside a terminal.

ILTA's speaker rules also reveal something about the audience. Sales presentations are not accepted, and companies submitting technical content must be terminal members or trade-show exhibitors. That boundary favors operational credibility. If your offer depends on a generic corporate presentation, this is a difficult room; if it solves a defined terminal problem, the concentration is the attraction.

9. Houston Build Expo — June 16–17, 2027

A construction equipment exhibit on the Houston Build Expo floor.

Houston Build Expo is a regional construction show for suppliers that want to meet architects, general contractors, designers, engineers and commercial builders working in the Houston market. Building products, jobsite equipment, software and professional services fit best when your company can quote, supply or support an actual project after the event.

The show is scheduled for June 16–17, 2027, in Reliant Center's Hall D. The organizer promotes more than 280 exhibitors and “thousands” of buyers. Because the buyer total is not defined more precisely, it should not be converted into a specific attendance claim. The useful signal is the mix of project roles rather than the vague headcount.

This is a regional construction-market opportunity, not an automatic substitute for every specialty industry event. A supplier with local distribution, estimating or technical support can move a conversation toward a real project. A product that requires months of engineering approval may use the event to start specification discussions rather than expect orders on the floor.

The product presentation should make its project effect easy to understand. A wall system can show assembly sequence, equipment can demonstrate reach or output, and software can connect one site input to a decision that a contractor or engineer already makes. Large samples and powered demonstrations need early coordination; once the show is shortlisted, use the current exhibitor kit to confirm packed weight, electrical load, handling and installation responsibility.

10. Valve World Americas Expo & Conference — Confirm the 2027 Date

Valve displays and exhibitor booths at Valve World Americas in Houston.

Valve World Americas is the most focused Houston choice in this list for valves, actuators, sealing, fugitive emissions, materials and flow-control maintenance. Its audience includes manufacturers, EPC organizations and end users who can compare a component at the level of application, material and service access.

There is one date problem that should be resolved before any travel or production commitment. The official dates and venue page lists June 23–24, 2027, at George R. Brown Convention Center, Halls D and E. The official homepage was still displaying July 14–15, 2027, when this guide was checked. Contact the organizer and obtain the confirmed date in writing.

The most recent completed-show review reports 280 exhibitors and 4,400 total attendees in 2025. Those figures show a concentrated specialist event; they are not 2027 results or a promise that every attendee is a buyer.

A useful stand here makes specification differences easy to inspect. Put the cutaway beside the pressure, temperature and media conditions it represents. Let maintenance access be seen rather than described. If fugitive-emissions performance is central, connect the claim to the applicable verified test or documentation. Visitors should be able to compare the exact application boundary, not just see rows of similar metal products.

11. Abilities Expo Houston — August 6–8, 2027

Attendees gather beside an accessible transit exhibit at Abilities Expo Houston.

Abilities Expo Houston is a free public expo for people with disabilities, families, caregivers, professionals and service organizations. It is a direct fit for assistive technology, mobility products, accessible vehicles and daily-living solutions that people need to see, test or discuss with a knowledgeable representative.

The Houston event runs August 6–8, 2027, in NRG Center's Hall E and is co-located with the Abilities International Accessibility Conference.

The organizer's current Houston services include sensory early access, ASL interpretation, CART captioning, wheelchair repair and accessible transportation. The specific 2027 program is still being updated, but the existing service model shows what this audience expects: the ability to participate, test and obtain usable information without avoidable barriers.

Accessibility also has to be visible in the stand itself. Wheelchair turning, reach range, sound, supervised trial space and a clear route for fitting or dealer support all affect whether visitors can evaluate the offer. Software and services should make accessibility features demonstrable, not bury them in a feature list. A product with no defined disability or accessibility use case is unlikely to become relevant simply by adopting inclusive language.

12. IMAGE 2027 — August 30–September 2, 2027

Geoscience professionals network on the IMAGE exhibition floor in Houston.

IMAGE and OTC both sit inside Houston's energy calendar, but they should not share the same message. IMAGE 2027 is built around geoscience: seismic, subsurface data, exploration, interpretation and the technologies that help professionals understand what is below the surface. Our IMAGE Conference booth rental service covers exhibit planning for this specialist audience.

The event is scheduled for August 30–September 2 at George R. Brown Convention Center. It also publishes a concrete 2027 exhibit-space rate: commercial space is $42 per square foot, increasing to $43 on December 1, 2026. Non-commercial and university space is $21 per square foot, rising to $21.50 on the same date. These are space rates, not total exhibit budgets; design, graphics, services, handling, travel and other show costs remain separate.

The organizer also reports a 90% rebooking rate. Read that as a strong organizer signal of repeat participation, not an independent guarantee of exhibitor results. The better reason to attend is audience specialization.

Seismic systems, geoscience software, subsurface imaging, data services and exploration technology can show how one input changes interpretation or risk. A side-by-side dataset, workflow or model is often more persuasive than an oversized corporate video. If the offer depends on vessel systems, subsea equipment or a wider engineering chain, OTC may provide the broader context. When the value sits in underground understanding, IMAGE is the sharper choice.

Other Houston Events to Research

These events expand the calendar without becoming a second set of “top” recommendations. A published 2026 date is included only as a monitoring reference and is clearly separated from the unknown 2027 schedule.

Two commonly copied listings should be removed from a Houston 2027 plan. The official h+h Americas page puts its 2027 event in Rosemont, Illinois. The former HOUSTEX site now redirects to MT Southwest, which is scheduled in Dallas in 2027. Old aggregation pages that still assign either event to Houston are outdated.

Which Houston Show Fits the Sale You Need to Make?

Houston's strongest events become easier to compare when the product is mapped to the decision it supports.

What you need to sell or proveStart withCompare next when…
Upstream prospects, producing properties, energy data or capital servicesNAPE SummitIMAGE matters if subsurface interpretation is central
Offshore equipment, subsea technology or multi-party project servicesOTCValve World matters if flow control is the real buying category
Carbon capture, transport, storage or monitoringCarbon Capture Technology ExpoOTC matters if the solution must enter a broader offshore or energy project chain
Valves, actuators, sealing or fugitive-emissions solutionsValve World AmericasILTA matters if terminal operations are the main use environment
Bearing, lubrication or condition-monitoring technologyThe Bearing ShowA broader industrial event matters only if the product sells beyond this specialist chain
Fleet parts, maintenance or trucking servicesTexas Trucking ShowA national show matters when multistate fleet reach outweighs regional access
Assistive technology, mobility or accessible vehiclesAbilities ExpoA healthcare event matters if clinical professionals—not users and families—drive the decision
Vehicles, boats or dealer-supported consumer productsHouston Auto Show + Boat ShowAnother event matters when professional procurement replaces public product trial

Do not use event fame as a tie-breaker. Ask which job titles will understand the offer, whether the product needs a live or physical demonstration, and whether the team can fulfill the next step in that market. If those three answers are weak, a famous Houston show remains a poor investment.

George R. Brown or NRG: What Actually Changes?

The venue does not make one event more commercially valuable, but it changes the inputs needed to execute the exhibit. Reliant Center's current facility page lists more than 706,000 square feet of exhibit space across 11 halls, 109 loading bays and more than 280,000 square feet of marshaling space. It also states that exhibit-hall utilities drop from the ceiling and identifies several exclusive services.

Those details matter for vehicles, tall equipment, suspended services and complicated freight. They do not replace the current show manual. GRB events also vary by hall and organizer, so use the exact hall, move-in target, approved service providers and current exhibitor kit—not a generic “Houston venue” assumption.

Once an event is selected, the trade show booth rental process should begin with the actual venue and hall, packed dimensions, utilities and demonstration method. A plan built only around the public address can miss the instructions that control receiving and installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the biggest energy trade show in Houston?

Among the 2027 Houston energy events in this guide, OTC publishes the largest clear professional-audience figure: 25,000 energy professionals, along with more than 166,000 square feet of exhibit space. NAPE is more deal-focused, IMAGE is more concentrated on geoscience, and Carbon Capture is more specialized around CCUS. Choose OTC for breadth, not because one number makes it best for every energy supplier.

Which Houston trade show is best for valve manufacturers?

Valve World Americas is the strongest first choice for valve manufacturers because the event is organized around valves, actuators, sealing, flow control, materials and related maintenance. OTC is the better second option when the product needs exposure across a wider offshore and EPC project chain. Confirm Valve World's 2027 date directly because its official pages currently conflict.

Are the Houston Auto Show and Rodeo B2B trade shows?

No. Both are major public-facing events with commercial opportunities, but neither is a pure B2B trade show. The Auto and Boat Show suits dealers, product trials and consumer services. The Rodeo suits approved vendors, agriculture-facing offers, food, retail and Western-lifestyle categories. Their public traffic should not be reported as a count of professional buyers.

Which Houston trade shows are currently open to exhibitors?

NAPE, Carbon Capture Technology Expo, OTC, ILTA, Houston Build Expo, Valve World Americas, The Bearing Show, Abilities Expo and IMAGE all publish exhibitor, booth or sponsorship routes for their current editions. Availability still depends on category rules and remaining space. The Rodeo's 2027 commercial-exhibit application was already closed when this guide was checked, which is why an official event listing alone is not proof that space can still be purchased.

Final Thoughts

Houston offers several nationally important events, but they are not interchangeable. The best shortlist follows the market role of the product: dealmaking, engineering, terminal operations, component selection, fleet use, construction, geoscience or public trial. After that match is clear, verify the organizer's current date, exhibitor access and hall information before committing production or travel. Compare additional dates in our U.S. trade show calendar, and review logistics in the Texas convention center guide.

Planning an Exhibit for a Houston Trade Show?

Send us the show name, venue and hall, booth size, equipment dimensions, utility requirements, demonstration method and the roles you want to meet. We will use those inputs to define an initial exhibit scope, identify the event information still missing and organize the decisions needed before design begins.

Once the event and hall are confirmed, review our trade show booth rental in Houston service before sending the brief.
