When you search for U.S. plastics trade shows, you can find a long list of events that merely mention plastics. The harder job is deciding which one puts your product in front of the right part of the market. This guide compares verified 2027 events by what you can see there, who they bring together, and when exhibiting makes sense.
The 2027 U.S. plastics event calendar at a glance
The list below is deliberately not presented as ten equivalent shows. NPE covers the broad plastics value chain. The remaining events are better understood as focused routes into a process, material, or end-use market.
| Date | Event | Location | The practical reason to consider it |
|---|---|---|---|
| February 8-11 | SPE International Polyolefins Conference | Galveston, Texas | Technical access to the polyolefin, additive, flexible-packaging, and materials community |
| February 9-11 | MD&M West — Plastics sector | Anaheim, California | Medical-device and advanced-manufacturing applications for plastics |
| March 1-3 | Plastics Recycling Conference | National Harbor, Maryland | Recycling systems, recycled resin markets, EPR, and circular packaging |
| April 12-14 | PACK EXPO Southeast | Atlanta, Georgia | A regional packaging and processing market with buyers from southeastern U.S. manufacturing |
| April 13-15 exhibits | RAPID + TCT | Detroit, Michigan | Polymer additive manufacturing, industrial 3D printing, and production applications |
| May 3-7 | NPE2027: The Plastics Show | Orlando, Florida | The broadest U.S. meeting point for plastics machinery, materials, processing, molds, and recycling |
| May 11-12 | SPE Thermoset TopCon | Madison, Wisconsin | Focused technical conversations about thermoset materials, processes, and equipment |
| May 18-20 | Foam Expo North America | Atlanta, Georgia | Technical foam, adhesives, converting, and downstream foam applications |
| September 27-29 | PACK EXPO Las Vegas | Las Vegas, Nevada | Large-scale packaging demand for containers, films, closures, materials, and processing solutions |
| October 18-20 | SPE Annual Blow Molding Conference | St. Charles, Missouri | Concentrated technical audience for blow molding rather than a broad plastics crowd |
Two date conflicts matter before you go any further. The Polyolefins Conference overlaps MD&M West in February, and PACK EXPO Southeast overlaps the RAPID + TCT exhibit days in April. A small international team should choose between each pair based on the buyer conversation it needs; trying to cover both usually weakens preparation at both.
1. NPE2027: The Plastics Show
May 3-7, 2027 | Orange County Convention Center | Orlando, Florida

NPE2027 is the one event on this list where a company can reasonably expect to examine a large part of the plastics supply chain in one trip. The organizer expects more than 51,000 attendees and 2,200 exhibitors from over 130 countries. Because those figures describe a future show, treat them as the organizer's forecast, not a guaranteed result.
The floor is organized around bottle manufacturing, materials, moldmaking, manufacturing services, and recycling and sustainability. That breadth makes NPE relevant to resin and additive suppliers, extrusion or molding equipment companies, moldmakers, processors, recyclers, component manufacturers, and brand-side technical teams. Live production and recycling demonstrations also give machinery companies a way to show more than a static product photograph.
The scale is both the reason to attend and the reason to be selective. A general claim such as “high-quality plastic solutions” will disappear in a hall full of specialists. Before booking, identify the zone where your most likely buyer will already be comparing alternatives. Then decide what that person must be able to inspect: a running machine, a molded sample, a cycle-time comparison, material traceability, or evidence that a process can be repeated.
NPE deserves first consideration if your objective is broad U.S. channel development or if your offer connects more than one part of the value chain. It is less convincing as a first exhibit when your product serves one narrow application and you have not yet learned which U.S. job titles own the decision. In that situation, attending NPE can produce a better market map than occupying a booth with an untested message.
The Society of Plastics Engineers' ANTEC technical program is integrated into NPE in 2027. That gives technical teams access to polymer and processing education without treating ANTEC as a second Orlando event.
2. MD&M West — Plastics sector
February 9-11, 2027 | Anaheim Convention Center | Anaheim, California

MD&M West brings medical technology, automation, design and manufacturing, plastics, and packaging together in one event. Its plastics sector covers subjects such as injection molding, extrusion equipment, biocompatible polymers, coatings, finishing, and additive manufacturing.
That mixed floor is useful when your product becomes valuable inside a regulated or high-specification manufactured product. Medical molders, clean manufacturing suppliers, engineered-material companies, precision component producers, and inspection or process-control providers have a plausible reason to investigate the event. A commodity resin offer with no medical or advanced-manufacturing application is likely to encounter too much irrelevant traffic.
Do not prepare for Anaheim as if it were a smaller NPE. The useful conversation is closer to a product-development review: what part will be made, what material or process constraint exists, what documentation matters, and how production risk will be controlled. Finished samples, traceable specifications, process capability, and application evidence will usually carry more weight than a wall of broad industry claims.
If you are still testing whether medical-device companies are a realistic U.S. segment, visit first and listen to the questions engineers and quality teams ask. Exhibit when you can answer those questions with evidence and when the companies you want to meet appear in the current attendee or exhibitor ecosystem—not simply because “medical plastics” sounds attractive.
3. Plastics Recycling Conference
March 1-3, 2027 | Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center | National Harbor, Maryland

The Plastics Recycling Conference is built around the economics, policy, infrastructure, and technology of plastics recovery. Its 2027 program highlights extended producer responsibility, design for recyclability, resin markets, trade shifts, recycling capacity, and recycled-content requirements. Registration also covers the co-located Resource Recycling Conference and Textile Recovery Summit.
The organizer currently promotes more than 2,500 attendees and 250 exhibitors across the combined event. It does not offer an exhibit-hall-only or one-day pass, which tells you something important about the format: conference participation and industry discussion are central to the value, not an optional extra around a conventional sales floor.
Recycling equipment makers, sorting and recovery technology companies, recycled-resin suppliers, testing or traceability providers, packaging teams, and organizations working on compliance can find a concentrated audience here. A virgin-material supplier without a circularity, recovery, or policy-relevant story will have a weak reason to exhibit.
This is also a show where unsupported sustainability language is especially risky. Bring the boundary conditions behind the claim: feedstock source, contamination tolerance, output consistency, applicable testing, and what has or has not been validated at production scale. The people in the room are more likely to challenge a vague circular-economy promise than reward it.
4. PACK EXPO Southeast
April 12-14, 2027 | Georgia World Congress Center | Atlanta, Georgia

PACK EXPO Southeast is a packaging and processing show, not a general plastics exhibition. The organizer expects 500 exhibiting companies and more than 7,000 professionals from consumer packaged goods and life-science markets. Its southeastern location is the main strategic difference: the event is designed to connect suppliers with the region's manufacturing base.
Plastic container, cap and closure, flexible-packaging, film, label-material, reusable-packaging, and packaging-equipment companies may find direct application demand. A plastics processor selling semi-finished stock or industrial components should not assume that a large packaging audience will automatically understand where its product fits.
The decision turns on what the buyer can evaluate at the stand. Packaging visitors commonly compare line compatibility, throughput, material behavior, shelf or transport performance, changeover, and sustainability constraints. If your offer cannot be demonstrated through a package, a line problem, or an end-use sample, NPE or a process-specific event may produce better conversations.
Atlanta can make sense as a lower-complexity test of a southeastern U.S. packaging market before committing to the much larger PACK EXPO Las Vegas. It does not make sense merely as a cheaper substitute if your priority accounts attend the national event instead.
5. RAPID + TCT
Conference April 12-15; exhibits April 13-15, 2027 | Huntington Place | Detroit, Michigan

RAPID + TCT focuses on industrial additive manufacturing and 3D printing. The organizer presents more than 450 technology providers and programming that extends from prototyping to production applications.
Include this event in a plastics plan only when additive manufacturing is central to the offer. Polymer printers, feedstock and powder suppliers, service bureaus, software providers, post-processing companies, testing suppliers, and manufacturers with proven printed applications fit the conversation. A conventional injection molder that only uses 3D printing for occasional internal prototypes does not automatically need a booth.
Detroit strengthens the event's connection to automotive and industrial manufacturing, but location alone should not drive the choice. The stronger test is whether your product solves an additive-production constraint: repeatability, throughput, material performance, finishing, qualification, or movement from prototype to serial production.
RAPID's exhibits overlap PACK EXPO Southeast. Choose Detroit if your evidence is a printed part and a manufacturing workflow. Choose Atlanta if the evidence is a package or processing line. That distinction is clearer—and more useful—than dividing a small team between two unrelated audiences.
6. SPE Thermoset TopCon
May 11-12, 2027 | Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center | Madison, Wisconsin

SPE Thermoset TopCon is a two-day technical conference and expo covering advances in thermoset materials, processes, and equipment. It follows NPE by only a few days, so international travel plans need a clear reason to extend beyond Orlando.
The event is relevant when thermosets are the actual center of your technical offer: resin systems, additives, compression or transfer molding, process equipment, testing, or application development. Its focused setting may support deeper engineering conversations than a very large show, but it will not provide NPE's cross-industry reach.
Do not measure this event against NPE by total footfall. Measure it by access to the people who can understand and evaluate your specific thermoset problem. If the same sample and the same message would be used at both events, the plan is probably underdeveloped. Orlando should show the breadth of the commercial offer; Madison should give specialists enough evidence to discuss the material or process in detail.
7. Foam Expo North America
May 18-20, 2027 | Georgia World Congress Center | Atlanta, Georgia

Foam Expo North America serves the technical foam and adhesives supply chain. Published application areas include transportation, aerospace, construction, packaging, furniture and bedding, medical products, electronics, appliances, footwear, and sports equipment. The event is co-located with Adhesives & Bonding Expo.
This breadth is application breadth within foam—not a broad invitation to every plastics company. Foam raw-material suppliers, formulators, converters, cutting or laminating equipment companies, adhesive and surface-treatment suppliers, and manufacturers of finished technical foam products have a direct reason to consider it. Injection-molded rigid components do not become relevant just because they are polymers.
The show is useful when the sample itself can start a technical conversation. Density, compression behavior, cell structure, bonding, flame performance, acoustic or thermal behavior, and converting quality may matter, depending on the application. Choose only the evidence that supports the target use; a table crowded with unrelated properties makes it harder for a visitor to see why the material belongs in a vehicle, package, building, or medical product.
For an overseas supplier, the exhibitor decision should also account for sample handling and technical staffing. A lightweight product does not guarantee a simple exhibit if the conversation depends on test reports, multiple constructions, or live converting equipment.
8. PACK EXPO Las Vegas
September 27-29, 2027 | Las Vegas Convention Center | Las Vegas, Nevada

PACK EXPO Las Vegas is the larger national packaging option in this guide. The organizer projects 2,300 exhibitors and more than 30,000 industry professionals from over 40 vertical markets. Its scope includes packaging and processing machinery, automation, materials and containers, printing and labeling, inspection, logistics, and plant systems.
Plastics companies should pay particular attention to the Containers & Materials Pavilion and to buyers evaluating plastic containers, flexible packaging, reusable formats, coatings, adhesives, and sustainability-focused materials. Packaging machinery or component suppliers may have an equally strong fit when the product can be shown in an operating line context.
The size of the event does not rescue an unclear application. A film, closure, tray, resin, or reusable container needs to be shown against the decision the visitor is making: product protection, machinability, line speed, shelf performance, transport, regulation, or recovery. Large volumes of general traffic are less valuable than a smaller number of visitors who recognize that decision immediately.
Choose Las Vegas over the Atlanta edition when you need national reach, a broader set of end-use verticals, or a larger machinery and materials ecosystem. Choose Atlanta when the southeastern region is itself the market thesis and you can test that thesis with named target companies. Exhibiting at both can be justified, but only if each show has a distinct account plan rather than a duplicated booth calendar.
9. SPE International Polyolefins Conference
February 8-11, 2027 | Galveston Island Convention Center | Galveston, Texas

The SPE International Polyolefins Conference is a technical meeting for the polyethylene, polypropylene, additive, modifier, foam, flexible-packaging, building-products, and materials-performance communities. It is not a replacement for the commercial range or machinery floor at NPE.
Its value is concentration. Resin producers, compounders, additive companies, testing specialists, and technical teams working on polyolefin performance can use it to follow technical and regulatory discussions and meet people who already understand the material family. A finished-product exporter with no materials technology to discuss may find little reason to sponsor or exhibit.
The conference overlaps MD&M West. If your evidence begins with resin formulation, stabilization, processing behavior, or material performance, Galveston is the more coherent choice. If it begins with a finished medical or advanced-manufacturing application, Anaheim is more likely to put that evidence in the right context.
10. 42nd SPE Annual Blow Molding Conference
October 18-20, 2027 | St. Charles Convention Center | St. Charles, Missouri

The SPE Annual Blow Molding Conference offers a narrower route into blow molding than either NPE or PACK EXPO. That is an advantage when the company sells blow molding machinery, molds, resins, additives, inspection, controls, bottle-development services, or a process improvement that needs a technical audience.
The format should shape expectations. This is a specialist conference, not a high-traffic national plastics exhibition. The likely value lies in the relevance and depth of a smaller number of conversations. If the objective is broad distributor recruitment or exposure across multiple plastics processes, NPE is the stronger anchor. If the objective is to have technically credible discussions about one blow-molding problem, St. Charles may be the more efficient room.
Packaging suppliers should also distinguish process from end market. Use the blow molding conference when the conversation centers on how the container is made. Use PACK EXPO when it centers on how the filled package performs on a line and in its market.
Which event belongs on your shortlist?
Start with the part of your offer that the visitor must understand. The event follows from that—not the other way around.
| Your strongest evidence | First event to investigate | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Running plastics machinery, molds, resins, processing, or a multi-process offer | NPE2027 | Broad plastics supply-chain coverage and live production context |
| Medical-grade material, precision molding, regulated component, or device-manufacturing process | MD&M West | The plastics story sits inside a medical and advanced-manufacturing decision |
| Sorting, washing, reprocessing, recycled resin, traceability, or EPR support | Plastics Recycling Conference | Recycling economics, policy, and technology are the main conversation |
| Container, film, closure, flexible packaging, reusable packaging, or packaging equipment | PACK EXPO Southeast or Las Vegas | Buyers are evaluating packaging and processing applications rather than plastics in isolation |
| Polymer printing material, AM equipment, service, software, or qualified printed part | RAPID + TCT | Additive manufacturing is the organizing logic of the event |
| Foam chemistry, converting, bonding, or a technical foam product | Foam Expo North America | The supply chain and application audience are specific to foam and adhesives |
| Polyolefin formulation or materials science | SPE International Polyolefins Conference | Smaller, technically concentrated material audience |
| Thermoset material or process | SPE Thermoset TopCon | Focused thermoset education and supplier contact |
| Blow molding process, mold, machine, resin, or inspection problem | SPE Annual Blow Molding Conference | A specialist process audience can go deeper than a general show |
If your strongest evidence does not fit one row, do not force the closest event to work. Clarify the U.S. application and the job title you need to meet, then inspect the current exhibitor list, program, and floor plan. An event name is not audience proof.
Events to monitor rather than place in a 2027 budget today
Several familiar names do not belong in a confirmed 2027 calendar yet.
- PTXPO: the organizer says the Plastics Technology Expo returns to Rosemont on March 21-23, 2028. Injection molders and moldmakers should monitor it, but it is not a 2027 show.
- CAMX: industry material points to Anaheim for 2027, while the current public event site still promotes the September 2026 Atlanta edition. Wait for the organizer to publish the 2027 dates before booking around it.
- AMI Plastics World Expos North America: the official site currently promotes the November 11-12, 2026 Cleveland edition. A 2027 U.S. date has not been verified.
- Molding Conference: the current organizer page lists November 18-19, 2026 in Greenville. Do not turn that date into an annual 2027 assumption.
This distinction matters because old event calendars remain visible in search results. Confirm the year, city, venue, and exhibitor status on the organizer's site before paying for space or travel.
Frequently asked questions
Are the attendance and exhibitor numbers for 2027 guaranteed?
No. A 2027 event has not happened yet, so figures promoted for it are forecasts, targets, or current organizer estimates unless the organizer explicitly labels them as past results. Use them to understand intended scale, then check the current floor plan, exhibitor directory, and registration updates before committing. Do not turn projected attendance into a lead forecast.
What should you ask an organizer before signing an exhibit contract?
Ask for the latest floor plan, available space, audience breakdown by industry and job function, exhibitor rules, cancellation terms, and the services included with space. Then compare those answers with the organizer's public directory and program. A sales presentation can explain the opportunity, but your own target-account match should decide whether the opportunity is real.
Should a first-time U.S. exhibitor book before the full exhibitor list is published?
Only when the event's established audience already matches a market you understand and the contract risk is acceptable. If the event is new to you, the audience definition is broad, or your U.S. sales path is still uncertain, request more evidence or attend first. Early space selection can improve location, but a better location cannot correct a weak buyer match.
Can plastics machinery run live at every event on this list?
No. Live demonstrations depend on the event, hall, machine, utilities, safety review, exhaust or material requirements, and move-in schedule. Obtain written organizer and venue requirements before promising a demonstration or designing around one. When live operation is impractical, a verified sample sequence, process video, cutaway, or controlled tabletop demonstration may communicate the same decision more reliably.
Can an overseas team install its own booth at a U.S. plastics show?
Rules vary by venue, show, booth type, and task. Some work may be reserved for approved contractors or local labor, while exhibitors may be permitted to handle limited setup. Review the current exhibitor manual and obtain written clarification for anything that affects labor, electrical work, rigging, machinery, or safety. Do not build a budget around assumptions carried over from a show in another city.
Final thoughts
For most international plastics companies planning the United States in 2027, NPE is the first event to investigate and the wrong event to select automatically. Its breadth is valuable only when you know where your offer fits. The other events on this calendar can be better choices when the real market is recycling, medical manufacturing, packaging, additive manufacturing, foam, polyolefins, thermosets, or blow molding.
Choose the audience first. Then verify the current directory and program, decide what evidence a visitor must inspect, and only then commit to a booth. If you want help translating that event choice into a practical U.S. exhibit, King Exhibits can review your show, product, stand size, demonstration needs, and target conversations before the booth plan is developed.
