Selling a parking system starts with understanding how an operator runs a site. At the NPA Convention & Expo, you can talk with parking operators about how your system handles entry, payment and exit at their sites. This guide explains the 2026 event, where your product may fit, and what to check before committing to a booth this close to opening day.
What is the NPA Convention & Expo?
NPA is the National Parking Association. Its 2026 Convention & Expo combines a supplier exhibition with professional education and networking for the parking industry. This edition marks the association’s 75th anniversary. The official event uses “Expo” in its name. NPA welcome

NPA describes an audience spanning commercial parking operators and organizations that manage parking for public or institutional facilities, such as municipalities and universities. That makes the event relevant when your sales conversation concerns running parking sites. It does not establish that a particular operator will attend or arrive with an approved purchasing budget. Exhibitor benefits
For a parking software or equipment business, the useful first question is whether you can demonstrate a job an operator needs done. A company selling general business software without a parking application has more work to do before this becomes a sensible booth investment. Ask NPA about attendance from the operator segment you serve, rather than treating a broad industry audience as a ready-made prospect list.
Dates, location and time on the show floor
The convention is scheduled for September 14–17, 2026, at Caesars Palace Hotel, Palace Tower, in Las Vegas. Hargrove identifies the exhibit location as the Octavius Ballroom. Exhibit location

The exhibition runs September 15–17; Monday’s convention activity should not be mistaken for an extra selling day in the hall. Official event FAQ
| Expo date | Published opening hours, Las Vegas local time |
|---|---|
| Tuesday, September 15 | 2:00–5:00 p.m. |
| Wednesday, September 16 | 11:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. |
| Thursday, September 17 | 9:00 a.m.–noon |

Keep your product specialist available through Thursday morning. Someone returning after an initial conversation may need a detailed answer before agreeing to a follow-up demonstration. Plan staff breaks around the actual hall hours, rather than dividing the convention’s four days into equal shifts.
What the NPA exhibitor list and conference program tell you
The 2026 exhibitor directory lists businesses including Amano McGann, FLASH and SKIDATA. Use the directory’s product categories to understand the surrounding offer; exhibiting companies are not evidence of who will buy from you. Current exhibitor directory

That concentration matters if your system replaces or connects with equipment an operator already uses. Prepare a clear account of what you can connect to today, what needs additional development, and who takes responsibility for deployment. A visitor comparing several systems needs to know how yours would fit into an existing site, not just what appears on its dashboard.
The published conference program includes sessions on AI in parking operations and customer retention. These subjects make useful conversation starters, but a session topic does not prove demand for your particular product. Conference program
If you promote automation, demonstrate how staff respond when a vehicle cannot enter, a payment fails or a driver cannot exit. Then explain which steps are automated and where a person still intervenes. Ask NPA before scheduling a group presentation or demonstration that could draw a crowd; a booth reservation alone does not establish which formats are permitted.
Is a booth still practical for this edition?
As of September 7, 2026, the event is only a week away. Start with NPA’s live booth reservation page and ask the exhibition team to confirm an available space in writing. A page offering reservations does not guarantee that a suitable booth can still be booked. Booth reservations

The official decorator, Hargrove from Encore, lists September 2 as the final day for online ordering. Ask its team what it can still supply before building your plan around rental equipment. Hargrove event manual
NPA’s two public booth pages currently disagree on the 10-by-20 end-cap price. Get a written quote for your actual space instead of copying a figure into your budget. Then obtain the separate service costs needed for your demo, including power, connectivity and material handling. Booth rates, reservation page
If your demonstration kit is ready and the organizers can confirm the remaining arrangements, a late booking may still be workable. If your offer needs a new physical installation or unresolved approvals, do not let an available rectangle on the floor plan become the reason to rush. You may learn more by registering as an attendee under NPA’s rules and visiting the expo before committing to a future booth.
Build the booth around a parking conversation
Give a visitor one complete journey to follow: entering a facility, paying, and leaving. Use test records so the operator can see both the driver’s experience and the staff screen without exposing a customer’s live data. If the system has an unresolved limitation, show where it applies instead of hiding it behind a polished video.

Bring a short description of an actual deployment only if you have permission and records to support it. Include the type of site, the problem addressed and how the result was measured. If you do not have a relevant installation yet, say that you are demonstrating a proposed application. A credible next step could be a technical review; it does not have to be an immediate order.
For a physical terminal or barrier, send the booth designer its footprint, power needs and operating movement before choosing the layout. Visitors should be able to watch from inside your space. Keep a recorded version of the demonstration available in case the live connection fails, and check any equipment-specific restrictions with show management.
NPA directs exhibitors to the Exhibitor Service Center for planning alerts and to Hargrove’s show manual for service orders. Obtain the current display rules for your booth type before approving construction. The dimensions of supplied drape do not, by themselves, establish the permitted height of a custom exhibit. Also resolve the published timing differences before booking labor. NPA and Hargrove show different Monday move-in start times and different Thursday move-out end times. Hargrove’s move-out sheet separately requires outside carriers to check in by 7:00 p.m. Do not treat the later teardown finish as extra time for your driver to arrive. Exhibitor FAQ
Can I attend without a booth and sell in the aisles?
NPA prohibits unauthorized selling by non-exhibitors, commonly called suitcasing. An attendee badge is not a substitute for paid exhibit space. If you are attending to assess a future exhibit, ask NPA which business activities it allows and stay within those conditions. Attendee policies
Will the exhibitor attendee list include email addresses?
NPA’s exhibitor benefits page says the registration list in the Exhibitor Service Center excludes email addresses. Plan around conversations and follow-ups that people agree to, rather than assuming your booth purchase includes an email campaign list. Confirm current access and permitted use through NPA. Exhibitor benefits
What should I record after an operator watches the demo?
With permission, note the site problem, the system currently in use and the person who needs to join a follow-up. Agree on one next action, such as reviewing an integration question. Those details make the next conversation useful; a badge scan alone does not explain why the visitor stopped.
Are hotel rooms included with registration?
No. NPA says hotel reservations are separate. Use the hotel link reached through the official convention site, and check current availability and terms before booking. Do not assume a registration confirmation also reserves accommodation. Official event FAQ
Where should I register booth staff?
Use the Exhibitor Service Center. NPA’s attendee registration page directs exhibitors there for booth personnel. Before buying separate attendee registrations, have the person managing your booth booking check the package allowance and register each team member through the appropriate route. Make the decision before you ship
For this edition, ask NPA and Hargrove to confirm your space and the services your demonstration needs. Proceed only if you can show a parking operator something useful within those confirmed arrangements. Otherwise, register as an attendee under NPA’s rules and visit the expo to learn what your next exhibit should prove.
