If you are planning to exhibit in Indianapolis in 2027, determine which event will put you in the same room as the people you need to meet before committing the booth and travel budget. Indianapolis hosts major shows throughout the year, but fire-equipment buyers, commercial fleets, retail category managers, wastewater contractors and tabletop gamers create very different opportunities.
The 12 events below cover construction, workplace safety, environmental services, commercial vehicles, fire and rescue, healthcare, food, rail, gaming, agriculture and motorsports. For each show, you will find what happens on the floor, who attends, the latest published scale and the types of companies most likely to benefit from exhibiting.
Information checked September 4, 2026. Future dates, exhibit schedules and participation requirements can change. Check the organizer's latest exhibitor information before booking space, travel or freight.

1. Indianapolis Build Expo

If your products are sold to contractors, home builders, developers or property-management companies, the Indianapolis Build Expo is a regional construction show worth examining. The 2027 event takes place January 20–21 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, and the organizer currently promotes more than 150 exhibitors.
The floor is built around active construction work, including building products, tools, construction technology and professional services. It does not cover the same long supply chain as a large national building show. Its advantage is regional concentration: you are more likely to meet people working on projects in Central Indiana and looking for products, services or local partners they can use.
The exhibit hall is open for five hours each day, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. That gives you two compact days to introduce the company to regional contractors, dealers and project teams. If a system requires an architect, engineer, owner and contractor to complete a long technical review, arrange that meeting before or after show hours instead of depending on an aisle conversation.
The event is most useful when your company can continue quoting, supplying or servicing projects in Indiana and nearby markets. If the primary goal is a national specification program, major OEM accounts or nationwide distribution, treat Indianapolis Build Expo as a regional addition rather than a replacement for a larger national event.
2. Indiana Safety and Health Conference & Expo

The Indiana Safety and Health Conference & Expo is for people responsible for safety at work. The conference runs February 8–10, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center, with the expo concentrated on February 9. More than 100 companies exhibited in 2026.
PPE, industrial-hygiene equipment, machine guarding, safety training, EHS software and risk-control services all have a natural audience here. Visitors include safety leaders, EHS professionals, safety-committee members, HR staff and employers. They are likely to ask not only what the product does, but also how it will be trained, inspected, documented and introduced into daily operations.
The value comes from the concentration of relevant job functions, not from a huge public crowd. When a product or program must pass through a safety department before it can be adopted, one focused day can be more productive than a general industrial show. Staff the booth with someone who can discuss standards, scope and implementation, not only distribute literature.
This event and FDIC serve different working environments. Industrial protection, occupational health and company safety programs fit here. Fire apparatus, rescue tools and emergency-response products should move FDIC higher on the list.
3. WWETT Show

Companies that manufacture vacuum trucks, jetting equipment, pumps, tanks, pipe-inspection systems, wastewater treatment or septic products usually place the WWETT Show high on an Indianapolis shortlist. WWETT stands for Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport, and the people on the floor actually operate, buy and support this equipment.
The 2027 conference runs February 22–25, with the exhibition open February 23–25 at the Indiana Convention Center. The organizer promotes more than 500 brands across over 300,000 square feet. That space is filled with trucks, large machinery, operating systems, components and hands-on equipment—not just rows of brochure counters.
Visitors will look directly at control positions, hose access, tank and pump configuration, service points, inspection output and the effect on daily crew productivity. Your booth works when operators can approach the equipment, understand it and ask detailed questions. Vehicle dimensions, weight, power, compressed air, cleaning and floor protection can also change both the space requirement and show-service cost.
WWETT offers a direct industry conversation when your company already has products, distribution and support for the U.S. wastewater or environmental-services market. If the product is a generic industrial item and you cannot explain how it fits this work, the crowd alone is unlikely to produce strong opportunities.
4. Work Truck Week

Work Truck Week is not a consumer auto show. It is an industry event for the companies that build, equip, operate and maintain commercial vehicles. Work trucks, vans, bodies, cranes, lifts, snow-and-ice equipment, power systems, vehicle components, fleet software and electrification solutions all appear on the floor.
The 2027 event runs March 9–12. The main exhibit hall is open March 10–12, and Ride & Drive operates March 10–11. NTEA verified 15,646 professionals at the 2026 event, representing all 50 U.S. states and 29 countries, along with 547 exhibitors.
What makes the show useful is the number of roles connected to the same vehicle. Fleet managers are looking for a truck that fits the duty cycle. Chassis manufacturers and upfitters discuss compatibility. Engineers look at payload and installation, while dealers consider sales and service. A component shown on a real chassis or body can therefore create a better discussion than a wall of disconnected products.
Ride & Drive deserves attention when the advantage can only be felt during driving or operation. If the main selling point is construction, installation or maintenance, a static vehicle supported by the right technical people may be enough. Companies selling commercial vehicles, upfits, vocational equipment or fleet technology should make Work Truck Week the first Indianapolis event they compare.
5. PopCon Indy

PopCon Indy is a pop-culture and fan convention scheduled for March 26–28, 2027, at the Indiana Convention Center. Celebrity appearances, cosplay, gaming and creator programming are joined by a vendor area selling collectibles, artwork, apparel, comics, games and licensed merchandise.
It is not a traditional B2B trade show, but it can still be valuable if you sell creator products, games, licensed merchandise, collectibles or other fan goods. These products can generate awareness, trial and direct sales, and visitors are often willing to queue for signings, demos or limited releases.
The organizer has not published a sufficiently clear 2027 attendance figure, so there is little reason to build a budget around an estimated crowd. The better question is whether the product can be experienced, purchased or shared within a few minutes. If the sale requires a buying committee, lengthy technical qualification or national distributor negotiations, an enthusiastic fan audience will not automatically create the right opportunity.
6. FDIC International

FDIC International is one of the largest fire and rescue industry events in the United States. Fire apparatus, pumps and water systems, rescue tools, PPE, communications, station equipment, EMS products and operational technology share the event. The audience includes fire chiefs, training officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, HazMat teams and distributors.
The 2026 event registered 38,027 professionals from 51 countries and hosted more than 850 exhibitors. The organizer reported that 62% of attendees were decision-makers. For a fire or rescue supplier, that creates opportunities to meet product users, trainers, technical evaluators and purchasing influencers at the same event.
The full 2027 program runs April 12–17, but the exhibition is open only April 15–17. Hands-on training, workshops, summits and classes begin earlier in the week. Staffing and travel plans should therefore distinguish the full educational program from the three days when the show floor is open.
FDIC also uses the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, the connector and outdoor areas. PPE, software and smaller tools can work in a conventional indoor booth, while apparatus and live rescue demonstrations may require a completely different location and operating space. Confirm where the product will be displayed before the booth is designed around it.
7. NTI Critical Care Exposition

When nurse evaluation plays a major role in whether a hospital adopts the product, the NTI Critical Care Exposition is worth researching. Part of AACN's National Teaching Institute, it brings together nurses, clinical leaders and educators working in acute, progressive and critical care.
The 2027 NTI conference runs May 3–5, and the Critical Care Exposition is open May 4–5 at the Indiana Convention Center. AACN describes an audience of more than 6,000 influential nurses.
Clinical devices, monitoring systems, nursing education, infection-control products and workflow technology can all receive feedback from people who use them. Nurses may not sign the final purchase order, but they can identify whether the product is easy to use, how much training it requires, whether it creates extra work and how it fits an existing care process.
A demonstration is easier to understand when it follows one complete clinical task—from preparation through use, cleaning and handoff—instead of presenting several unrelated simulated environments. NTI is particularly useful when your product needs nurse input before clinical adoption. If you only want to meet centralized procurement personnel, the route is less direct.
8. Sweets & Snacks Expo

The Sweets & Snacks Expo is a major U.S. marketplace for candy and snack products. The main 2027 expo runs May 18–20 at the Indiana Convention Center, while the Supplier Showcase is open May 17–18.
The 2026 event reported 17,500 registrants and 1,000 exhibitors. Its published audience mix included 30% in purchasing, 22% in operations, 22% in marketing and sales, 18% in category management and 8% in merchandising. Those roles make the event more than a place for consumers to taste new products. It is where brands and retail channels discuss how an item can enter the market.
If you sell finished candy or snacks, the main expo is the more relevant floor. Purchasing and category teams can taste the product, compare flavors and pack formats, and then discuss retail positioning, case configuration and distribution. Flavor is only the first test; buyers still need to decide where the product belongs, how it will be sold and whether supply can support the program.
If you supply ingredients, packaging, processing or production equipment, you need to meet manufacturers instead. The Supplier Showcase is closer to sourcing, packaging choices and production capability, so it is often more useful than the finished-product floor. Decide whether the people you need to meet are retail buyers or food manufacturers before choosing which part of the event to enter.
9. Railway Interchange

Railway Interchange is a major professional event spanning freight rail, passenger rail, transit and the rail supply chain. Track and maintenance equipment, rolling-stock components, signaling, communications, safety products, engineering services and asset-management technology all appear at the show.
The 2027 event is scheduled for May 25–27 at the Indiana Convention Center. The organizer promotes more than 4,000 rail professionals and 400 exhibitors. Its prospectus reports that 40% of attendees are CEOs, executives, vice presidents or managers and that the audience represents 39 countries.
The show works well when you need both technical evaluation and commercial support to move a project forward. Rail products depend on a defined application: freight, passenger or transit; vehicle or infrastructure; installation, maintenance and local support. If those questions have no clear answer, an international audience and strong executive percentage will not be enough to create a project.
Both indoor and outdoor displays are available. Large maintenance machinery may benefit from outdoor operation or scheduled demonstrations, while a component or system can often be explained indoors with a cutaway, installed assembly or working process. Decide how the product needs to be evaluated before choosing the exhibit size and location.
10. Gen Con Indy

Gen Con Indy is one of North America's largest tabletop gaming conventions. From August 5–8, 2027, players, publishers, game designers and accessory brands will fill the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium with exhibits, launches, tournaments and thousands of scheduled games.
The organizer's current scale description includes more than 70,000 gaming enthusiasts, 500+ exhibit-hall booths and over 20,000 gaming events. For tabletop games, card games, role-playing products and accessories, the main opportunity is to let a large number of real players experience the product and then buy it or join the community.
Results depend heavily on how many people can actually play. A four-seat, 30-minute demo completes no more than eight full player sessions in four hours. When rules take too long to teach, the booth may look busy while relatively few people experience the game. A short discovery version, more trained game masters or scheduled sessions will often deliver more value than additional decoration.
For budget context, the organizer's 2026 reference rate was $2,489 for a 10-by-10 inline booth and $4,107 for a corner. Verify the 2027 rate when applications open. Gen Con can support launches, direct sales, playtesting and community growth, but its results should not be measured as conventional B2B lead volume.
11. National FFA Convention & Expo

The National FFA Convention & Expo centers on agricultural education, careers, leadership and youth development. The 2027 event runs October 27–30 across the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indiana State Fairgrounds and other Indianapolis venues.
The 2025 convention welcomed more than 73,000 attendees and over 300 exhibitors. A 2023 post-event survey found that 72% of attendees were students and 28% were adults. Those figures explain why an event with “Expo” in its name should not be evaluated as a conventional procurement show.
Agricultural employers, colleges, equipment companies, associations and technology providers attend to support career education, recruit future talent and build long-term brand awareness. Many students may become technicians, farm operators, agronomists, veterinarians or business leaders, but they are not there to sign equipment orders today.
The right exhibit gives students something meaningful to do: operate a safe simulation, diagnose an agricultural problem, understand a technology or discover a career path. The experience should lead to a course, internship, training resource or career contact. If you are focused only on short-term dealer orders, do not choose National FFA Convention simply because the headline attendance is 73,000.
12. PRI Show

The Performance Racing Industry Show is a trade-only event for the racing business. Race teams, engine builders, fabricators, retailers, track operators and sanctioning bodies come to compare engines, driveline parts, shop machinery, data systems, safety equipment and other performance products.
PRI reported 1,060 exhibitors at the completed 2025 event, while its brand materials commonly describe an overall scale of roughly 40,000 attendees and 1,100 exhibiting companies. For a racing-parts or equipment supplier, the value is not the number of casual automotive fans. It is an audience that understands performance data, fitment and race applications.
An engine or driveline product needs a clear fitment and test story. Shop machinery needs room to explain precision, output and operation. A striking race car can bring visitors into the booth, but it should direct attention to the component or service the company actually sells. Otherwise, the car becomes the attraction and the product disappears.
As of September 4, 2026, the organizer had announced December 10–12 for the 2026 event but had not confirmed the 2027 dates. If your business serves the performance-racing industry, keep PRI on the shortlist, but leave production, travel and freight timing provisional until the organizer publishes the new schedule.
Other Indianapolis-Area Events to Research

When two events both relate to your industry, do not compare attendance alone. Look first for the job functions that can advance the business. Then ask whether the product can be shown in the way the event allows and whether your company can quote, distribute, install or support it after the show. The event that connects those three conditions deserves the budget.
