If your company is comparing Portland trade shows for 2027, first decide where your product is used. A food-plant engineer, restaurant operator, winemaker, materials developer and nursery buyer may all attend events in Portland, but they arrive with very different purchasing problems. The 12 shows below explain who each event is built for, the evidence available about its size and when exhibiting is likely to support a real sales channel in the Pacific Northwest.
2027 Portland Trade Show Calendar
Organizer dates are used for attendee planning. An Oregon Convention Center booking can include move-in, move-out or private program days, so its venue window is not automatically the same as the public conference or exhibit schedule.

Food and Beverage Buyers: Two Food Shows, Two Different Sales Channels
Portland has several events with “food” or “wine” in their identity, but that does not make them interchangeable. One room is evaluating production lines, another is buying for restaurants, and a third is supporting vineyards and wineries. Choose the operating environment your product serves.
1. Food Northwest Process & Packaging Expo — January 13–14, 2027

Food Northwest is the Portland show to examine first when your product belongs inside a food plant. Its 60,000-square-foot Hall A exhibition covers processing equipment, packaging, hygiene, construction and production support for fresh, dry, canned, frozen, beverage, dairy, bakery, seafood, meat, produce and specialty operations.
That breadth sounds general until you look at the common buying problem: keeping a production facility running safely and efficiently. A conveyor, pump, inspection system, enclosure, sanitation product or packaging machine earns attention by showing what happens on the line—what comes in, what changes and what leaves the process. A broad corporate presentation leaves the plant engineer to make that connection alone.
The Oregon Convention Center listing and the 2027 event portal both support January 13–14. One sentence inside the venue page says January 12–14, so the final exhibitor schedule still needs to be rechecked before travel or labor is booked.
For machinery, the first booth decisions are not the graphics. They are the equipment footprint, operating clearance, power, air, water or drainage requirements, and whether a live output can be handled cleanly. A static component supplier can keep the footprint smaller, but it still needs a process diagram or sample that locates the product inside the plant. Food Northwest is a weak choice for a finished-food brand whose actual goal is to reach restaurant buyers; that is the next event’s job.
2. Oregon Wine Symposium — February 2–3, 2027

The Oregon Wine Symposium is not a public tasting festival. It brings together vineyard owners, growers, winemakers, production teams and wine-business leaders for education and a trade show. The current 2027 event page promotes access to more than 1,200 industry professionals, while the event FAQ describes nearly 200 vendors across the wine supply chain.
Recent completed data helps put that claim in context. The Oregon Wine Board’s 2026 update recorded 881 full-access registrations, 44 Spanish-language registrations and 230 trade-show-only registrations. Those are separate registration categories from a completed year, not a promise that 2027 will produce the same crowd.
The event makes sense for barrels, bottles, closures, labels, processing and cellar equipment, lab services, vineyard technology, compliance support, finance and direct-to-consumer tools. The strongest presentation follows the decision already in the buyer’s head. A closure supplier can organize samples around oxygen management and brand finish; a lab service can show what is tested, when the result arrives and how it changes a production decision. Wine imagery alone may look appropriate while saying very little to the people running the winery.
The Oregon Winegrowers Association exhibitor page currently lists a non-member 10×10 booth at $1,750 and a $300 discount for current service members. That is space and basic furniture, not the total exhibit cost. Sampling or alcohol service must follow the organizer’s current rules rather than being assumed from the event category.
3. Northwest Food Show — April 18–19, 2027

A finished product, beverage or restaurant solution that does not belong at Food Northwest may fit the Northwest Food Show very well. This is a foodservice and hospitality marketplace at the Portland Expo Center, where the buyer is more likely to be thinking about menu use, service speed, margin, storage, labor or customer demand than factory throughput.
The official show site confirms April 18–19, 2027. Its 2026 exhibitor prospectus reported that 75% of attendees were key decision-makers with purchasing authority. The audience mix was 36% restaurant or café, 10% bar or tavern, 10% catering, 10% brokers, 7% institutions, 5% food carts and 22% other foodservice. The data is from the prior edition, but it gives a useful test: will those businesses know how to buy and use what you sell?
Sampling can answer that question quickly for a food or beverage brand, provided the taste is followed by commercial information. Pack size, case configuration, foodservice application, storage, preparation and distribution coverage should be easy to find. Equipment companies need the same discipline: show the task the product improves in a kitchen, bar or service line, not a factory process that belongs at the January event.
This distinction prevents one of the most expensive list-page mistakes. “Food industry” is too broad to select a show. Food Northwest is the stronger starting point for processing and plant systems. Northwest Food Show is the clearer channel for restaurants, cafés, bars, caterers, institutions and hospitality operations.
Materials, Building Systems and Technical Markets
4. International Mass Timber Conference — March 16–19, 2027

The International Mass Timber Conference is Portland's strongest event in this list for companies selling into the forest-to-building supply chain. Mass-timber materials, connectors, fabrication equipment, engineering and project services can meet architects, engineers, developers, contractors, manufacturers, code officials and public agencies involved in real projects.
The current 2027 site lists more than 3,000 attendees, 200 exhibitors, 90 speakers and participants from over 35 countries. Those numbers matter because one project can involve several of those roles, not because 3,000 is automatically better than 1,200. A connector may be evaluated by an engineer, specified by a designer, purchased through a contractor and installed under a different field condition.
Physical evidence works hard here. Full-size connection details, material samples, fabrication tolerances, finishes, tested assemblies and installation sequences can turn an abstract capability into something a project team can question. A wall of finished-building photography is useful context, but it cannot replace the detail that explains how the product becomes part of the building.
The 2027 exhibitor page currently prices 100–300 square feet at $25.95 per net square foot and 400 square feet or more at $19.95, plus a $250 corner fee. Exhibitor passes are separate. That published structure is useful when comparing space options, but the larger footprint has a business case only when the exhibit needs room for a real assembly, equipment or multiple project conversations.
One date discrepancy deserves attention: the organizer lists March 16–19, while the convention center calendar shows March 17–20. Use the organizer’s dates for attendance planning and verify the exhibitor manual for move-in, show-floor and move-out hours.
5. SPC Impact Portland — April 13–15, 2027

SPC Impact Portland is a specialist event for companies working on sustainable packaging materials, recovery and reuse systems, compliance, data and brand implementation. It is valuable when your team can discuss how a packaging change works in practice. A brand seeking broad CPG buyer traffic rather than a deep sustainability conversation may need a larger packaging marketplace.
The Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s future-events page confirms Portland for April 13–15, 2027 and points specifically to Oregon’s sustainability initiatives and extended producer responsibility environment. A 2027 attendance or exhibitor total had not been published when this guide was checked, so there is no useful reason to invent one.
Here, “sustainable” begins the discussion rather than finishing it. Packaging professionals will ask which material is changing, what system is expected to collect or recover it, what trade-offs appear in performance and cost, and how the claim can be substantiated. Material producers can answer with a controlled sample set showing the current construction, proposed construction, performance requirement and end-of-use pathway. Recovery systems and software need a similarly traceable story.
Unsupported leaf icons and environmental slogans will be surrounded by people whose daily work is testing those claims. Show where data or material enters, which decision the system supports and what output the customer receives.
6. Functional Fabric Fair Spring — April 13–15, 2027

Functional Fabric Fair is built around a buyer action that cannot be reproduced well in a search result: touching and comparing materials. Designers, product developers, sourcing teams and material managers can place fabric weight, hand feel, stretch, insulation, weather resistance and finish beside the technical data used to narrow a collection.
The organizer’s 2027 Portland page names more than 255 leading suppliers and focuses on outdoor and performance apparel for the 2027/2028 seasons. The current program window is April 13–15 at Oregon Convention Center; verify the final show-floor hours when the detailed schedule is released.
This is not the place to hide the material behind a large lifestyle image. Swatches need enough light and handling room to be compared. Labels should connect each sample to the few specifications that matter for the intended garment or equipment application. When the same technology appears in several weights or constructions, organize it by buyer decision rather than internal product code.
SPC Impact is scheduled in the same center during the same dates, but proximity does not create a shared audience or badge. A material business with both performance and environmental claims still needs to decide which buyer owns the primary commercial conversation. Functional Fabric Fair is the stronger choice when the product will be selected by apparel design, development or sourcing teams.
7. Multifamily NW Maintenance Fair — April 22, 2027

The Maintenance Fair is a one-day regional show, and that limitation is also its appeal. A supplier can meet property-maintenance and facilities professionals without paying for a national event whose audience extends far beyond its service territory.
Multifamily NW’s 2027 planning guide confirms April 22. The organization describes the fair as an annual event for maintenance and facilities professionals, with vendors and practical education around building operation. Its current trade-show reference lists 2026 standard booths at $600 for members and $800 for non-members; 2027 pricing must be taken from the current planner rather than copied forward.
Local coverage decides whether the low entry cost is genuinely efficient. Property managers may ask who installs the product, how quickly replacement parts arrive, who trains maintenance staff and what happens when a unit fails. A regional HVAC, flooring, water-damage, pest-control, lighting, access or maintenance supplier can answer those questions directly. A national manufacturer without a Northwest distributor or service plan may collect interest that it cannot convert.
Keep the exhibit close to the maintenance task. A cutaway, tool-side comparison, installation sequence or service-access demonstration gives the visitor something practical to evaluate during a short day. A lounge-heavy booth uses space on the one thing this audience did not come to inspect.
8. Oregon Dental Conference — April 29–May 1, 2027

The Oregon Dental Conference combines continuing education with a commercial exhibit hall, which makes recent completed data more useful than a generic “thousands attend” claim. The Oregon Dental Association reported 3,025 people at the 2024 conference: 2,525 dental professionals and 500 exhibitor personnel. The same report counted 107 exhibiting companies using 122 booths.
The 2027 conference page confirms April 29–May 1 at Oregon Convention Center. The event is relevant to dental equipment, instruments, supplies, imaging, infection-control products, practice software, finance and professional services. The commercial opportunity is concentrated in dental professionals, not the raw total that includes exhibitor staff.
Clinical workflow should shape the presentation. A device can be shown through setup, use, cleaning and training; practice software can follow an appointment, imaging or administrative task. The people asking questions may include dentists, hygienists, assistants and practice owners, so the product explanation needs a clear path from daily use to the purchasing consequence.
Avoid turning the booth into an unsupported clinical-claims page. Efficacy, compatibility, regulatory status and infection-control statements should be tied to the documentation that actually supports them. If the product requires hands-on use, confirm the organizer’s demonstration rules and provide enough staff to guide it safely.
9. Northwest Facilities Expo + Northwest Machine Tool Expo — May 5–6, 2027

These two events share dates and space, but they do not ask the same question.
| Expo side | Typical roles | What earns attention |
|---|---|---|
| Northwest Facilities Expo | Facilities, maintenance, energy, public works, property and purchasing managers | Reliability, service access, energy use, safety and operating cost |
| Northwest Machine Tool Expo | Machinists, CNC programmers, manufacturing engineers, production leaders and shop managers | Cycle time, accuracy, tooling, automation, part quality and machine capability |
A compressor, enclosure, control system or maintenance platform may serve both groups. The exhibit still needs a primary route. Facilities visitors should not have to work through a machining presentation to find serviceability; production visitors should not see only a facilities-level promise when they need tolerances, output or integration detail.
The Oregon Convention Center confirms the May 5–6 combined event. The Machine Tool Expo’s 2027 exhibitor page lists standard one-booth space at $26 per square foot, or $2,600 for 100 square feet before the optional furniture package, corner charge and show services. It also identifies machining, aerospace, industrial machinery and automotive applications.
Machinery demonstrations need their own early decision: bring the full machine, a working subassembly, a sample-part sequence or a video supported by real parts. The most expensive object is not automatically the most convincing one. Choose the version that exposes the performance difference the buyer is there to evaluate.
10. OAME Trade Show & Luncheon — May 6, 2027

OAME gives exhibitors a five-hour commercial window, not two full show days. The official event page schedules the trade show from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 6 and closes it during the noon-to-1:30 p.m. luncheon. It expects 1,700 people, 133 booths and roughly 900 luncheon attendees.
That format changes the objective. This is a regional supplier-diversity and relationship event involving small businesses, public agencies, service and education providers, and larger companies. A ten-minute product tour repeated all day may be less useful than a clear reason for a procurement, prime-contractor or partnership contact to continue the discussion after the event.
Bring the information that makes qualification easier: service territory, relevant classifications or certifications, project scope, past-performance categories that can be substantiated, and the kind of contract or partner relationship being sought. The booth should make that commercial identity visible before a visitor asks for it.
Oregon Convention Center shows a May 5–6 venue window, but the OAME page confirms that the trade show itself is May 6. That is why venue calendars should never be used alone to schedule exhibit staff.
11. IEEE EMC+SIPI Symposium — July 12–16, 2027

EMC+SIPI is a technical forum where a polished screen cannot stand in for measurement. The audience includes researchers, practitioners and industry personnel working in electromagnetic compatibility, signal integrity and power integrity. Test equipment, chambers, probes, components, materials, simulation software and engineering services all have a natural place when the team can discuss how performance was established.
The 2027 exhibitor page confirms July 12–16 in Portland and describes networking breaks, poster sessions, experiments and demonstrations, and Ask the Expert panels on the exhibit floor. Oregon Convention Center currently lists July 13–16 as its venue window. Follow the organizer for the symposium dates and use the eventual exhibitor prospectus for floor access and move-in details.
A useful demonstration isolates one technical question. Show the setup, the variable being controlled, the reading and the limit of the conclusion. Side-by-side traces or a compact experiment can invite a better discussion than a full-wall animation that never reveals the test condition. The person operating the display must be able to move beyond the first explanation; this audience will notice quickly when technical questions are being routed to someone who is not there.
The 2027 attendance total had not been published at the time of review. That missing number should not push a highly specialized event below a larger general technology show when EMC or SIPI is central to the product.
12. Farwest Show — August 25–27, 2027

Farwest is the clearest Portland choice for the nursery and greenhouse supply chain. The current show site lists more than 4,000 attendees across growers, retailers, buyers and landscape professionals. It is produced by the Oregon Association of Nurseries, which represents more than 600 individual nursery-related members; that association figure is not an exhibitor count.
Plants are only part of the commercial floor. Containers, irrigation, greenhouse systems, growing media, production equipment, automation, pest management, landscape products and business services all connect to the same regional industry. A supplier should decide whether it wants to reach the grower, retail nursery, landscape professional or distributor, because each one evaluates a different part of the offer.
For live plants, the display must survive the show as well as attract visitors. Light, water, soil containment, labeling and replacement stock affect the layout. Equipment suppliers have a different burden: make the operating or labor advantage visible without allowing a large machine to hide the products or the people around it.
Farwest also publishes concrete 2027 space pricing. Its exhibitor FAQ lists a 10×10 booth at $1,395 for OAN members and $1,995 for non-members, with a $125 corner charge per 10×10. Those figures help compare entry cost, but freight, handling, utilities, labor, graphics, travel and plant care remain separate budget lines.
Portland Consumer and Mixed-Audience Events
These events can be commercially useful, but they serve a different buying model. A company seeking local homeowner leads, direct retail sales or fan exposure should not compare their raw attendance with the professional shows above as though every visitor represents the same opportunity.
| Event | 2027 dates | Audience | Best commercial use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Portland Build, Remodel & Landscape Show | January 8–10 | Homeowners planning remodeling and improvement | Local contractors, installed products and residential lead generation |
| Portland Boat Show | January 13–17 | Boat buyers and outdoor consumers | Boats, marine accessories, dealers and direct consumer sales |
| FAN EXPO Portland | January 29–31 | 30,000 fans in the organizer’s current statement | Games, comics, collectibles, entertainment, retail merchandise and consumer activation |
| Portland Home & Garden Show | February 25–28 | Homeowners and local consumers | Home, garden and installed-service leads |
| House & Outdoor Living Show | April 10–11 | Home-improvement consumers | Local products and services with a direct residential sale |
| Crafty Wonderland Spring Market | April 30–May 1 | Art, craft and maker shoppers | Direct retail and independent-brand commerce |
FAN EXPO is the largest public audience named in this article, but its 30,000 fans do not make it Portland’s best B2B trade show. It becomes valuable when the product and buying action belong in fan culture or consumer retail.
Other 2027 Portland Events to Research

Which Portland Trade Show Should You Put First?
| What you sell or need to accomplish | Strong first choice | Why it moves ahead |
|---|---|---|
| Food-processing or packaging machinery | Food Northwest Process & Packaging Expo | The audience works inside food plants and can evaluate production, sanitation and line performance |
| Foodservice product, beverage or restaurant equipment | Northwest Food Show | Prior audience data shows restaurant, hospitality and purchasing roles rather than plant engineering |
| Winery or vineyard product | Oregon Wine Symposium | Production and business roles from the regional wine industry share one event |
| Mass-timber material, connection or project service | International Mass Timber Conference | The complete forest-to-building supply chain and project stakeholders are represented |
| Sustainable packaging system or material | SPC Impact | Packaging sustainability, EPR and substantiation are the central discussion |
| Performance fabric or trim | Functional Fabric Fair | Buyers can handle and compare materials alongside performance data |
| Property-maintenance product with Northwest service coverage | Multifamily NW Maintenance Fair | The focused one-day audience aligns with local building operations |
| Dental product or practice technology | Oregon Dental Conference | Recent actual data confirms a concentrated dental-professional audience |
| Machine tool or production technology | Northwest Machine Tool Expo | Machining, shop and manufacturing roles are the primary technical context |
| Facility or maintenance system | Northwest Facilities Expo | Facilities, energy, maintenance and purchasing roles match the operating problem |
| Supplier-diversity or regional procurement relationship | OAME Trade Show | The event is designed around businesses, agencies and contracting relationships |
| EMC or signal/power integrity solution | IEEE EMC+SIPI | Technical demonstrations and specialists support deeper product evaluation |
| Nursery, greenhouse or landscape-supply product | Farwest | The regional green-industry supply chain is the reason for the show |
When two events still look plausible, identify the person who has to say yes. A food manufacturer’s plant engineer and a restaurant operator may both buy packaging-related products, but they are not solving the same problem. The better show is the one where your proof, sales channel and follow-up capability already match that person’s work.
One Portland cost detail to plan early: Oregon Convention Center's current exhibitor guide gives advance rates for most service orders received at least 21 days before the event, while orders placed within seven days of the first move-in day fall into the late-rate window. If you are bringing machinery, powered foodservice equipment or a water-dependent demonstration, freeze the equipment position and utility requirements before that deadline. The selected show's exhibitor manual still controls freight, target times and material handling.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the largest trade show in Portland, Oregon?
Among the professional events in this 2027 core list, Farwest currently publishes the largest named audience at 4,000+ attendees, followed by the International Mass Timber Conference at 3,000+; the Oregon Dental Conference recorded 3,025 total attendees in 2024. FAN EXPO Portland states 30,000 fans, but it is a public pop-culture convention rather than a B2B trade show. These figures use different years and audience definitions, so they answer scale—not which event is best for your company.
Which Portland food trade show should I attend?
Choose Food Northwest on January 13–14 for food-processing machinery, packaging lines, sanitation, utilities and plant services. Choose the Northwest Food Show on April 18–19 for finished food, beverage, restaurant equipment and hospitality solutions. Oregon Wine Symposium on February 2–3 is the specialized option for vineyard and winery production and business suppliers.
How much does a 10×10 booth cost at a Portland trade show?
Published 2027 examples range from $1,395 for an OAN-member 10×10 at Farwest to $2,600 for 100 square feet at the Northwest Machine Tool Expo; Farwest’s non-member rate is $1,995, and Oregon Wine Symposium currently lists $1,750 for a non-member 10×10. Those are event-space examples, not complete exhibit budgets. Furniture, graphics, freight, material handling, utilities, labor, travel and product-specific services are additional.
How early should I order Oregon Convention Center services?
Use 21 days before the event start as the current advance-rate deadline for most OCC services. Orders placed within seven days of the first move-in day are charged at the late rate under the current guide. Confirm the exact event deadline in the current service manual because the venue can update prices and procedures.
Are all Oregon Convention Center events open trade shows?
No. The calendar includes public expos, professional conferences, member events, private programs and trade shows. An OCC listing confirms that space is scheduled; it does not confirm that every company can exhibit or that every registered attendee enters a commercial hall. Check the organizer’s exhibitor or sponsor application before budgeting.
Final Thoughts
Portland is a strong choice when your sales channel already points toward the Pacific Northwest. Food-plant suppliers can meet process buyers, material companies can reach performance-apparel or mass-timber specialists, and nursery suppliers can enter an established regional production network. Choose the event where those buyers can evaluate the product proof you are ready to bring, rather than treating every Portland audience as interchangeable.
Verify the organizer’s current date, exhibitor eligibility and floor schedule before committing travel or freight. Once the event and commercial objective are fixed, the trade show booth rental process can begin from a defined scope rather than a generic Portland concept.
Planning to Exhibit at a Portland Trade Show?
Send us the Portland event you are considering, your booth size, the product or equipment being displayed, the buyer roles you want to meet, and any demonstration, power, air, water or drainage needs. We will use that information to define the first exhibit scope, identify missing event requirements and prepare the next decisions for design and production.
