12 U.S. Building and Construction Trade Shows to Consider in 2027

A list of large events will not tell you which building and construction trade show deserves your budget. A concrete-equipment manufacturer, an architectural product supplier, and a regional subcontractor may all work in construction, but they need to meet different people and prove different things.

The useful question is not simply, “Which show is biggest?” It is, “Which audience can move our sale forward, and what must they see before they will do it?”

The 12 building and construction trade shows in the U.S. below cover residential building, architecture, concrete, paving, utilities, exterior systems, surfaces, glass, and regional project networks.

Verification note: Dates and locations were checked against organizer sources on September 5, 2026. These 2027 events have not yet taken place, and schedules, venues, show rules, or eligibility can change. Verify the current exhibitor information before signing a contract or booking freight.

Quick answer: Start with World of Concrete for concrete and masonry, IBS and KBIS for residential building products, AIA27 for specification-led products, World of Asphalt for paving and aggregates, The Utility Expo for utility infrastructure, and the specialist shows for precast, enclosures, surfaces, wall and ceiling systems, or fenestration. The best event is the one that reaches the role that can advance your sale and supports the proof that role needs to see.

Use the table in this order: identify the role that must move the sale forward, decide what that person needs to see, and then eliminate events your U.S. team cannot support after the show. Attendance size comes after those three tests.

1. World of Concrete

Attendees discuss construction safety products at a World of Concrete exhibit.

World of Concrete runs January 19–21, 2027, with education beginning January 18, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Its official hall plan covers concrete production, material handling, trucks, masonry, reinforcement, repair and demolition, decorative concrete, surfaces, construction technology, robotics, and precast products.

World of Concrete makes sense when your buyer needs to see a product perform rather than only review a sample. Equipment, tools, repair systems, batching or production technology, and jobsite products can benefit from task-based demonstrations. Build the exhibit around one visible problem—surface preparation, placement, lifting, cutting, repair, finishing, measurement, or production control—and show the before-and-after effect.

It is a weaker fit if your sale depends primarily on architects specifying an aesthetic system years before installation. In that case, AIA27 or a focused materials show may put you closer to the decision-maker.

2. Build Expo USA

Attendees speak with exhibitors at a Build Expo USA booth.

Build Expo USA’s current 2027 schedule lists Tampa and Indianapolis on January 20–21, Austin on March 24–25, Houston on June 16–17, Nashville on July 28–29, Dallas on August 25–26, and Atlanta on September 15–16. For broader city planning, compare our 2027 Houston trade show calendar and upcoming trade shows in Dallas.

The series is useful for companies that sell through regional relationships with contractors, builders, architects, engineers, developers, and property professionals. It lets you choose markets instead of funding one national appearance. A manufacturer with distributors or service teams in Texas, for example, can select Austin, Houston, or Dallas and connect the show plan to existing coverage.

Your exhibit should answer a local buyer’s next question: Who supplies, installs, services, or supports this product after the show? A large display without a credible regional follow-up plan will not solve that problem. Verify each city’s venue, audience details, and exhibitor terms before committing because series schedules can be revised.

3. NAHB International Builders’ Show and KBIS

A busy NAHB International Builders' Show aisle with building-product exhibits.

The NAHB International Builders’ Show and Kitchen & Bath Industry Show take place together during Design & Construction Week, February 2–4, 2027, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

IBS serves residential and light-construction professionals, including builders, remodelers, designers, architects, and other housing-industry participants. KBIS adds concentrated kitchen-and-bath categories such as appliances, cabinetry, plumbing, surfaces, lighting, and design technology. This combination is well suited to residential building products that cross design, purchasing, and installation conversations.

The organizer projects more than 2,350 exhibiting brands across Design & Construction Week in 2027. That is a planning estimate for a future event, not a result. The scale creates reach but also competition. A product wall alone may disappear in the visual noise. Show one residential use case, the installation logic, and the business consequence for the builder or remodeler.

4. The Precast Show

Attendees discuss precast products at an exhibitor booth during The Precast Show.

The Precast Show is scheduled for February 3–5, 2027, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. It serves the manufactured concrete sector, including precast, prestressed concrete, masonry, and hardscape production. Organizers expect more than 5,000 industry professionals and more than 400 exhibitors.

The concentrated production audience is valuable for plant equipment, molds, lifting and handling products, admixtures, testing, reinforcement, automation, software, safety systems, and production services. Your proof should connect directly to plant output: cycle time, consistency, labor, reject reduction, traceability, maintenance, or safe handling.

The show overlaps IBS and KBIS on February 3–4. If you cannot support two exhibits, choose based on the person who must approve or influence the purchase: manufactured-concrete operations point toward The Precast Show; residential builders and design-led product selection point toward IBS and KBIS.

5. World of Asphalt and AGG1

World of Asphalt and AGG1 attendees gather around equipment and the Community Zone on the show floor.

World of Asphalt and AGG1 run March 15–17, 2027, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The combined event targets asphalt, paving, aggregate, plant, and related equipment professionals. Organizers promote an expected audience of more than 11,500 professionals and more than 250,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Choose this event when the product’s value can be expressed through operating performance: throughput, fuel or material efficiency, uptime, wear life, safety, fleet visibility, quality control, or crew productivity. Bring evidence that helps an operator or owner compare alternatives. A working component, process simulation, maintenance access demonstration, or simple cost model can be more persuasive than a broad corporate presentation.

Do not treat the organizer’s expected attendance as guaranteed lead volume. Your reachable audience still depends on category, booth placement, demonstration quality, and pre-show account work.

6. IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show

Attendees speak with exhibitors on the busy IIBEC International Convention trade show floor.

The 2027 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show is scheduled for March 18–21 at the Henry B. González Convention Center in San Antonio.

IIBEC is a focused option for roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall, and broader building-enclosure products. It is especially relevant when consultants, designers, or technical evaluators influence whether a system reaches a project specification.

An enclosure audience needs more than a beautiful sample. Make testing, assemblies, transitions, installation tolerances, failure prevention, documentation, and technical support easy to examine. If your product has no enclosure-specific application or specification path, a broader construction event may produce more useful conversations.

7. Coverings

Coverings attendees walk a busy show floor lined with tile and stone exhibits.

Coverings 2027 takes place April 6–9 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The event focuses on ceramic tile, natural stone, and related design, construction, distribution, and installation markets. Its organizer describes an audience that includes architects, builders, contractors, designers, distributors, installers, and retailers, with exhibitors from around the world.

Tile, stone, setting materials, tools, fabrication technology, care products, and surface systems align naturally with this audience. The exhibit should help buyers compare finish, format, application, installation method, maintenance, and system compatibility. Full assemblies and installation demonstrations can turn a decorative sample into a construction decision.

Coverings overlaps the Atlantic Builders Convention. Choose Coverings for category depth and national or international surface-industry reach; choose Atlantic Builders Convention when Northeast project relationships are the priority.

8. Atlantic Builders Convention

Atlantic Builders Convention attendees visit exhibitor booths beneath the event welcome banner.

The Atlantic Builders Convention is scheduled for April 6–8, 2027, at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The regional event brings together builders, developers, remodelers, contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, architects, engineers, consultants, lenders, property managers, and government participants.

The value here is regional concentration, not a claim that it replaces every national show. It may suit companies pursuing residential and development opportunities in New Jersey and the broader Northeast, particularly when local distribution, code knowledge, installation partners, or project support matter.

Show proof of regional readiness: service territory, stocking or lead-time logic, compatible project types, and who handles the next conversation. If you cannot follow up in the region, the audience fit may look better on paper than it performs after the event.

9. BUILD27: AWCI Convention and Expo

Aerial view of the AWCI BUILD expo floor with wall and ceiling industry booths and attendees.

BUILD27 is scheduled for April 12–15, 2027, at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas. The Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industry focuses the expo on drywall, ceilings and acoustics, lath and metal framing, plaster, EIFS, insulation, software, and related tools and services.

This specialist setting can be more useful than a broad construction expo when your buyer, installer, or channel partner works directly in wall and ceiling systems. Demonstrate how the product affects layout, attachment, sequencing, finish quality, labor, safety, callbacks, or compatibility with adjacent materials.

It is not the right event simply because your product goes somewhere inside a building. You need a clear wall-and-ceiling application and a reason for contractors or system suppliers in that category to act.

10. AIA Conference on Architecture & Design

AIA Conference attendees take part in an interview on the architecture expo floor.

AIA27 runs May 19–22, 2027, in Philadelphia, with expo days on May 20–21. It connects architecture, engineering, construction, and design professionals with technical products and solutions.

Consider AIA27 when an architect, engineer, or specification professional can shape demand before a contractor buys. Building-envelope systems, structural or technical components, materials with design implications, software, lighting, surfaces, and performance products may fit this path.

Your exhibit should make specification easier. Provide clear application limits, test or compliance documentation where applicable, digital objects or details if available, finish options, integration points, and a reliable technical-contact route. A jobsite-only sales pitch is less effective when the visitor is deciding whether a product belongs in a design.

11. The Utility Expo

Crowded indoor exhibit hall at The Utility Expo with tool and equipment booths.

The Utility Expo takes place October 5–7, 2027, at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Its coverage includes electric transmission and distribution, gas, telecommunications, drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and the contractors that engineer and build this infrastructure. The organizer describes more than 32 acres of indoor and outdoor exhibits with hands-on demonstrations.

This is a strong match for vehicles, attachments, trenching, drilling, lifting, underground locating, safety products, materials, inspection, field software, and other utility-construction solutions. Use the outdoor environment when the product needs motion, load, reach, terrain, or operator interaction to be understood.

It is a poor fit for a generic building product with no utility-infrastructure use. The scale of the event does not compensate for a category mismatch.

12. GlassBuild America

Attendees watch a live glass-polishing demonstration on the GlassBuild America show floor.

GlassBuild America is scheduled for October 26–28, 2027, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. The organizer’s audience categories include glass fabricators, flat-glass manufacturers, full-service glass companies, residential window and door manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, contract glaziers, architects, and specifiers.

The event fits glass, fenestration, windows, doors, hardware, fabrication machinery, handling, sealants, components, software, and installation systems. Decide whether the buyer needs to see a finished opening, an assembly detail, a fabrication process, or machine performance. Then build the exhibit around that proof.

A company selling a broad exterior product without a meaningful glass, window, or door application should look first at IIBEC, AIA27, or another better-aligned event.

How to choose among U.S. building industry trade shows

1. Name the person who must act after the show

“Construction professional” is too broad. Decide whether the next action belongs to a contractor, plant manager, equipment owner, distributor, builder, architect, consultant, installer, developer, or purchasing team. That role should determine the event shortlist.

2. Match your proof to the buying task

Equipment buyers may need a live task and maintenance access. Architects may need testing, details, and specification support. Installers may need to see sequencing and labor impact. Distributors may need margin, assortment, logistics, and market-demand evidence. Do not use the same exhibit story for all four.

3. Decide whether a sample, assembly, or live demonstration is required

World of Concrete and The Utility Expo support products that benefit from physical demonstrations. AIA27 and IIBEC may reward technical documentation and assembly details. Coverings and GlassBuild can require both visual finish and installation or fabrication logic.

4. Test your U.S. follow-up coverage

A regional event can outperform a national show when sales, service, inventory, and channel support exist in that market. It can underperform when every lead must wait for an unclear handoff. Map who will respond, what they can promise, and how quickly they can move the opportunity forward.

5. Check calendar conflicts and operating requirements

The Precast Show overlaps IBS and KBIS, while Coverings overlaps the Atlantic Builders Convention. Compare not just audience size but also staffing, freight, installation, utilities, demonstrations, material handling, and lead follow-up capacity. Read the current exhibitor manual before final budgeting.

What about CONEXPO-CON/AGG?

CONEXPO-CON/AGG belongs on many construction-equipment planning lists, but it is not a 2027 event. The organizer’s current fact sheet lists the next show for March 13–17, 2029, in Las Vegas. If heavy equipment is central to your market, treat 2029 planning as a separate budget and product-launch decision rather than inserting the show into a 2027 calendar.

Build the shortlist before you design the booth

Start with two or three events whose audience can advance your actual sale. For each one, write down the target roles, the proof they need, the products or equipment you will bring, and what your U.S. team can do after the show. That exercise will expose weak event choices before booth space and freight are committed.

Once the shortlist is defensible, prepare the event name, current venue and hall, booth size, products or equipment, target roles, demonstration needs, freight, utilities, and current organizer deadlines. The trade show booth rental process shows how those inputs become an executable plan. For programs that need one team to coordinate vendors, freight, installation, show services, and on-site support, review the exhibit project management scope.

Frequently asked questions

What is the biggest construction trade show in the U.S.?

There is no single useful answer across every construction category. IBS is positioned by its organizer as the largest annual light-construction show, while The Utility Expo occupies a very large indoor and outdoor footprint for utility infrastructure. CONEXPO-CON/AGG is a major heavy-equipment event, but its next edition is in 2029. Choose by relevant audience and buying task, not one headline size number.

Which trade show is best for a building-products manufacturer?

It depends on who influences the purchase. IBS and KBIS fit many residential products; AIA27 fits products that need architect or specifier adoption; IIBEC fits enclosure systems; Coverings fits tile and stone; GlassBuild fits glass and fenestration; and regional builders’ shows can fit companies with strong local sales coverage.

Which 2027 construction shows are strongest for equipment demonstrations?

World of Concrete, World of Asphalt and AGG1, and The Utility Expo are the first events to evaluate when live operation is central to the sale. Confirm current demonstration rules, space, utilities, safety requirements, material handling, and outdoor availability with each organizer.

Are U.S. building and construction trade shows open to the public?

Eligibility varies. Many events are designed for trade professionals and may require business credentials, category qualifications, or specific registration types. Check the organizer’s current attendee and exhibitor rules rather than assuming that every event has the same access policy.
