Global Pet Expo is not a consumer pet festival where any brand can simply buy a table. Before you plan samples, graphics, or freight for Orlando, you need to clear the show's membership gate and connect the product, booth, staff, and service orders to the official exhibitor system.
This guide explains the 2027 show facts that are already public, the decisions they create for exhibitors, and the operational details that still require confirmation.
What Global Pet Expo is — and what it is not
Global Pet Expo is presented by the American Pet Products Association (APPA) and the Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA). The organizers position it as a pet-industry trade event for new products, commercial relationships, and professional education. It is not open to the general public.

The 2027 exhibit hall runs March 17–19 in the South Concourse of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The published exhibit-hall hours are:
| Date | Exhibit-hall hours |
|---|---|
| Wednesday, March 17 | 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. |
| Thursday, March 18 | 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. |
| Friday, March 19 | 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. |
That schedule is the commercial show floor. Global Pet Expo also offers education, but the programs should not be mixed together when you plan your booth. The Global Learning Series brings sessions onto show-floor stages. The Pet Summit is described separately as a paid add-on with its own premium education and networking format. A session calendar may affect staff coverage, but it does not change the booth's obligation to remain ready for buyers throughout exhibit hours.
Decide whether your company fits the show before reserving space
The official exhibitor page says active APPA and PIDA members are eligible to exhibit, and its FAQ states that an exhibitor must be an APPA or PIDA member. Treat that as the first gate, not as an administrative task to solve after design work begins.
The audience makes the second gate equally important. Global Pet Expo is built around qualified pet-industry participation. The organizer describes independent retailers, distributors, mass-market buyers, and other qualified professionals as core attendees. Its registration system distinguishes qualified buyers from media, influencers, industry visitors, exhibitor sales representatives, and exhibitors. Those badges do not represent one uniform audience.
For a pet product brand, the practical question is whether the offer is ready for wholesale evaluation. A buyer may need to understand the retail category, price position, pack size, merchandising method, supply terms, and why the product deserves shelf space. A contract manufacturer, ingredient supplier, packaging company, or equipment provider has a different conversation and may fit the Supplier Pavilion rather than a consumer-facing product area.
The show currently identifies specialty areas such as The Natural Pet, The Modern Pet, Pet Sustainability, and Aquatics & Exotics, while suppliers have a dedicated pavilion. Pet food and treats, toys and accessories, technology, natural and sustainable products, aquatic and exotic products, farm and feed products, and supplier services are all visible parts of the show's product landscape. Placement is not automatic: ask the exhibitor team which 2027 section and booth location apply to your company before building the exhibit story around a pavilion name.
How to exhibit at Global Pet Expo: the official path
The safest sequence is short, but the order matters.

- Confirm membership and exhibitor eligibility. Resolve APPA or PIDA status with the appropriate association contact before treating a floor-plan option as secured.
- Speak with the official exhibitor team and reserve space. Use the organizer's exhibit page and reservation path. Confirm the booth contract, dimensions, configuration, location, section, payment terms, and any frontage charge in writing.
- Use the Map Your Show Exhibitor Resource Center. The official Global Pet Expo exhibitor resources say the ERC manages the booth listing, invoices, exhibitor badges, and other exhibitor tasks.
- Assign operational owners. Give one person responsibility for the contract and invoices, one for the digital listing and marketing material, and one for show services, freight, and move-in. In a small team, one person may hold several roles, but the deadlines should still have named owners.
- Open the current display rules and service portals before approving the booth. A rendering is not an approval. The contracted booth type, sightline rules, hanging-sign conditions, accessibility, venue services, and freight plan must agree.
The official 2027 exhibit page currently lists space at $32 per square foot when booked by January 1, 2027, and $34 per square foot after that date. It also lists a $250 corner premium, with a two-booth minimum, and a $250 fee for each 10 feet of frontage on main trolley paths. A standard 10-by-10-foot booth equals 100 square feet. These are space-related organizer prices, not a complete exhibit budget. Freight, material handling, labor, electrical, internet, rigging, catering, furnishings, travel, product shipment, insurance, and other orders require separate current quotes.
The organizer's current FAQ also requires exhibitors to submit proof of liability insurance before setup. Treat the required certificate wording, insured parties, limits, submission method, and deadline as 2027 contract checks. Do not assume that an older certificate or a previous show's requirements will be accepted.
Build the buyer's discovery path before the physical booth
Global Pet Expo says its 2027 maps and directories are digital-only. Exhibitor information appears in the official app or MyShowPlanner, and the company profile is managed through Map Your Show. The listing can include the company description, contact details, booth number, product categories, collateral, photos, videos, and special offers.
This changes the starting point for exhibit planning. A buyer may find the brand by category or product before seeing the booth in an aisle. If the directory describes the company one way and the exhibit presents it another way, the buyer has to solve the mismatch.
Start with one commercial sentence: what does the product help a retailer sell, stock, display, or explain? Use the same category language in the directory, booth header, product grouping, and staff opening. Then decide what evidence the buyer can examine within a few minutes. Depending on the product, that might be packaging, ingredient or material information, a live demonstration, a merchandising unit, order documentation, or a comparison between product variants.
New-product programs can create another discovery route, but do not build the plan around an old entry page. The organizer's public exhibit FAQ still contains stale wording about a 2025 New Products Showcase form. The final 2027 categories, fees, entry rules, and deadlines need to be verified in the current ERC or official 2027 program page before an entry is promised.
Match the booth concept to the current display rules
Global Pet Expo's official display-rules page separates booth types because each type permits a different volume. A design that works in an island space may violate the sightline rules of a linear booth.

Linear and corner booths
A common linear booth is 10 by 10 feet. The current rules set an 8-foot maximum back-wall height, including signs and graphics. The 8-foot height is generally available only in the rear half; materials in the half nearest the aisle are limited to 4 feet so neighboring exhibits retain sightlines. Hanging signs are not allowed in linear booths.
A corner booth is a linear booth exposed to two aisles, and the official page sets a 10-by-20-foot minimum. The second aisle does not remove every sightline restriction. Product towers, shelving, demonstrations, and counters still need to respect the adjoining booth boundary.
Perimeter and island booths
A perimeter booth follows the linear-booth rules except that its back wall may reach 12 feet under the current page. An island booth is exposed on all four sides and begins at 20 by 20 feet. Its exhibit may use the full contracted space up to a stated maximum exhibit height of 16 feet, including signage.
Hanging signs are permitted only in standard island booths under the published rules. The sign may reach a maximum height of 24 feet, must be set back 10 feet from adjacent booths, and must remain over the contracted space. Requests are due to the organizer at least 60 days before installation, with drawings subject to convention-center inspection and final approval.
These dimensions are useful for early design control, but the current booth contract and 2027 exhibitor manual remain the final project documents. Canopies, towers, multi-story structures, fire safety, and accessibility add further review. The official rules also state that exhibits must comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If an element needs venue, engineer, fire-marshal, or show-management approval, identify the approving party and submission date before releasing it for production.
Treat products, demonstrations, and animals as operating conditions
A pet-industry exhibit often carries more operational variation than its floor plan suggests. Food or beverage sampling may require the official caterer or venue approval. Powered equipment may need electrical and internet orders. Large quantities of retail product change freight and storage needs. Packaging and loose samples create replenishment and waste tasks. None of those details should wait until the booth arrives in Orlando.

Live animals have a specific boundary. Global Pet Expo says any animal on the show floor or in a booth requires prior show-management approval through the Permission for Pets process or an on-site inquiry. Animals must remain leashed and under constant control, and the owner or handler remains responsible. The exhibit must also follow applicable laws and OCCC animal policies. That approval path is separate from deciding that an animal would make the booth more engaging.
Write a short operating sheet for each planned activity. Record what happens, who runs it, what utility or permission it needs, how products arrive and leave, and what stops the activity if the required approval is missing. The sheet gives the booth designer, service providers, and show staff the same version of the plan.
Use the official service interfaces, not unsolicited offers
The organizer identifies GES Exposition Services as the official general services contractor and exhibitor-services partner. Its online service center covers shipping, ordering, and support. The official vendor list also names Map Your Show for event management, Sodexo Live! for food and beverage, Smart City for internet, Maritz for lead retrieval, and other providers for specific services.
That list defines where to verify an order; it does not mean every service is included in the booth. Use the ERC and current vendor portals to identify the order form, scope, price, discount deadline, installation responsibility, and on-site contact for each requirement. Keep confirmations with the booth drawing rather than in separate email inboxes.
The show also warns exhibitors about third parties claiming to sell attendee data. The official help center says Global Pet Expo does not sell attendee data and identifies such offers as fraudulent. Do not treat an unsolicited list as an approved show service or as evidence of the people who will visit your booth.
Plan move-in as a pending 2027 assignment, not an old calendar
As of September 7, 2026, the official move-in help page still describes a targeted move-in schedule for the 2026 show and refers exhibitors to an upcoming bulletin. It does not provide a complete 2027 assigned move-in schedule. That gap should remain visible in your project plan.

Do not copy a prior year's date or assume early access. Create a move-in task that stays open until the 2027 bulletin or ERC assignment identifies your date, freight instructions, warehouse or direct-to-show address, carrier procedure, and access rules. Only then should flights, installer shifts, delivery appointments, and contingency time be locked.
The 2027 move-out schedule is already public. Exhibitor move-out runs Friday, March 19, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 20, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. GES is scheduled to begin returning empty crates, boxes, and containers at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Carriers must check in by 10:00 a.m. Saturday, and all exhibitor materials must be removed by 4:30 p.m.
Friday's exhibit hall closes at 3:00 p.m.; that does not mean every crate is immediately available. Keep the booth attended while waiting for empties, protect products and devices, and give the carrier the official check-in deadline. If products or booth items will be donated, follow the current organizer donation instructions rather than leaving material on the floor.
What is still unconfirmed for 2027
Several details that control cost and execution are not yet fully public. At the time of this review, exhibitors still need current 2027 confirmation for:
- the complete exhibitor service manual and all order forms;
- assigned move-in dates and times;
- advance-warehouse and direct-to-show shipping instructions;
- material-handling rates and discount deadlines;
- electrical, internet, rigging, catering, plumbing, gas, cleaning, and other service rates and deadlines;
- final New Products Showcase entry rules, fees, categories, and deadlines;
- the final liability-insurance certificate instructions and submission deadline;
- any product-specific U.S. regulatory, import, labeling, or sampling approval.
Assign each item to an owner and identify the official source that will close it. A blank date is safer than a copied 2026 date because it tells the team that the decision is still open.
Exhibitor checklist for the 2027 project file
Before the booth plan is released for production, the project file should contain:

- APPA or PIDA membership and exhibitor-eligibility confirmation;
- signed booth contract, floor location, dimensions, configuration, section, and payment record;
- current Map Your Show listing and approved product categories;
- exhibitor badge roster and approved company domains;
- final product, sample, demonstration, and replenishment plan;
- current display rules plus required structural, hanging-sign, fire, accessibility, animal, or venue approvals;
- accepted liability-insurance certificate and submission confirmation;
- current GES and other official service orders with deadlines and confirmations;
- final freight labels, shipping addresses, carrier appointments, and move-in assignment;
- move-out staffing, empty-container plan, carrier check-in, and product-disposition plan;
- a list of every 2027 item still awaiting official publication.
Global Pet Expo can be a focused wholesale event only when the project follows the way buyers and the organizer actually use the show. Clear the membership gate, make the digital listing and physical exhibit tell the same product story, and let current official documents control the build and logistics. Keep the open 2027 items visible until the organizer, ERC, GES, or the relevant venue service closes them.
Frequently asked questions
Can a company exhibit at Global Pet Expo without APPA or PIDA membership?
The official exhibitor information says exhibitors must be APPA or PIDA members. A company that is not currently eligible should contact the association or show team before committing money to exhibit production, freight, or travel. Membership approval and booth availability are separate decisions, so obtain both in writing.
Is Global Pet Expo open to consumers?
No. The organizer says the show is not open to the general public. It uses distinct credentials for qualified buyers, industry visitors, media, influencers, exhibitor representatives, and exhibitors. Build staffing and product conversations for verified pet-industry roles rather than for a consumer-festival audience.
Are printed show directories available in 2027?
No. The official help center says 2027 maps and directories are digital-only. Complete the Map Your Show profile and check the app or MyShowPlanner view before the event. Product categories, booth number, company copy, contact information, and media should lead a buyer to the same offer presented in the booth.
Can an exhibitor bring a pet or other live animal into the booth?
Not without permission. Show management requires prior approval for an animal on the show floor or in a booth, and OCCC policies and applicable laws also apply. The owner or handler is responsible for control and cleanup. Secure approval before advertising a live-animal activity.
Are the 2027 move-in schedule and service deadlines available now?
Not in a complete public set as of September 7, 2026. The official move-in page still points to 2026 targeted assignments and an upcoming bulletin. Use the 2027 ERC, current GES portal, and show bulletins for the final move-in assignment, shipping instructions, rates, and order deadlines; do not reuse last year's calendar.
Does the booth-space price include freight, labor, utilities, and furnishings?
The official exhibit page publishes space-related rates and named premiums. It does not present those amounts as a complete installed-booth price. Obtain current separate quotes and order confirmations for the services, freight, labor, utilities, furnishings, travel, insurance, and product handling required by your plan.
