Equip Exposition 2026 Exhibitor Guide

Equip Exposition lets contractors try equipment before they buy. For your commercial mower brand, that is a reason to consider exhibiting—but 2026 space has been announced as sold out. This guide explains the show and what to check before pursuing a first exhibit. Organizer announcement

A trade show where the machine can leave the display

Equip Exposition brings outdoor power equipment and landscape businesses together. The Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, or OPEI, owns and operates it. Equip Expo is the shortened name; older references to GIE+EXPO refer to its former identity. The new brand launched in 2022. Current event introduction · Official naming history

The show is for the industry rather than general public shopping. Contractors and landscape professionals attend alongside dealers and other equipment businesses. For your mower brand, that means two different conversations: how the machine works for a crew, and whether a dealer wants to sell and support it. The presence of both audiences is useful; it does not mean every visitor can appoint a new supplier. Attendance eligibility

The organizer describes a 30-acre Outdoor Demo Yard where visitors can try equipment. That is a strong reason to consider Equip if handling is part of your product's appeal. A brochure can explain the controls; a supervised drive can let someone assess how those controls feel. Neither a short drive nor the size of the demo yard proves a full day's productivity. Equip Expo 2026 dates and Louisville venue

Equip Exposition runs October 20–23, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky. October 20 is the welcome reception; the trade show takes place October 21–23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Do not offer a Tuesday booth appointment simply because Tuesday appears in the event dates. Dates explained · Venue information

The main indoor schedule starts Wednesday with a dealer and media preview from 9 a.m. to noon. General access follows at noon, when outdoor demonstrations also begin. Thursday offers a full day indoors and outdoors, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday, outdoor demonstrations close at 1 p.m., an hour before the indoor show. Official show hours

Use the Wednesday preview for the discussions that need your dealer sales lead. Plan contractor test drives around the outdoor hours, especially on Friday. The West Wing has a separate 9 a.m. early opening for all attendees; confirm your assigned hall before inviting anyone to an early appointment. West Wing exception

What the audience means for a commercial mower launch

Equip's dealer program specifically includes dealers, retailers, and distributors. Its equipment coverage includes zero-turn mowers alongside other outdoor machinery. Your category fits the event, but category fit alone does not tell you whether a particular dealer needs another mower line. Dealer program

Bring a clear account of the support you can actually offer. If your U.S. service arrangements are still being developed, say so during a dealer conversation. A good drive can create interest, but it cannot answer who will supply replacement parts after a machine goes down.

Contractor feedback serves a different purpose. Someone asking to try the mower may be assessing it for a working crew rather than looking for a dealership. Keep those conversations distinct so your team can follow up with the right information. A request for a test drive is a useful conversation starter, not evidence of an order.

Hardscape North America is co-located with Equip, adding a neighboring audience concerned with outdoor construction. That broadens the setting beyond mowing. It does not make every visitor a mowing prospect; ask whether maintaining turf is part of the visitor's business before launching into a mower presentation. Co-located event

Check the sold-out status before planning two spaces

On June 2, 2026, Equip Exposition announced that its available exhibit space had sold out. A request form is still online, but that does not establish current availability. Ask exhibit sales whether any cancellations or added space can be considered before committing to a 2026 build. Announcement issued by Equip Exposition

The official application makes outdoor space available to paid indoor exhibitors, subject to availability on a first-come basis. The outdoor application appears in your exhibitor dashboard after indoor space is confirmed. An indoor booking should therefore not be treated as a reserved driving area. Space application · Exhibit booking guidance

If suitable space becomes available, decide what must be demonstrated outdoors before settling the indoor display. If a drive is central to the product story, ask the sales team about suitable outdoor availability while discussing the indoor booking. If that space is unavailable, reconsider whether a stationary display will still accomplish your launch objective.

Give each space a clear job. Indoors, leave room to walk around the mower and discuss dealer support. Outdoors, focus the demonstration on an observable feature, such as control response. Use the same model name in both places so a visitor can find the machine they just discussed.

Public registration terms limit demo driving to people aged 16 or older with a valid driver's license. That visitor rule is not approval for your particular machine or demonstration. Before finalizing the plan, ask show management for the current equipment instructions and confirmation of your proposed activity. Fuel, batteries, charging, and moving machinery need answers for the actual equipment you intend to bring. Demo participation terms

Exhibitor FAQ

How many staff badges come with the booth?

The official help center states that two complimentary badges are provided per 100 square feet of booth space. Ask exhibit sales how that applies to your booking and how to register extra staff. Covering an indoor display and an outdoor demonstration may require more people than the included allocation. Badge allowance

Do we need OPEI membership to exhibit?

The published application lists member and nonmember rates, so membership is not a universal condition for exhibiting. Nonmember categories depend on membership eligibility. Have exhibit sales confirm your classification rather than choosing the lowest published rate for the budget. Exhibit application and rate categories

Where can we check the current exhibitor list and floor plan?

Use the official exhibitor directory and interactive floor plan linked from the show website. Booth assignments can change through show time, so an old PDF is a poor basis for locating another brand. The directory helps you find companies; ask exhibit sales separately about space you can actually book. Official directory guidance

Start with availability, then the demonstration

Ask exhibit sales whether there is a realistic route into the sold-out 2026 show. If there is, send the mower model and proposed demonstration for discussion. If there is not, use this edition to assess the event and plan a future exhibit instead of committing to a build without a place to use it.
