Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo North America 2026: Exhibitor Guide

You sell equipment that helps engineers test electric drives. Does Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo North America put you in front of those engineers? Its Detroit event is worth examining, but the shared battery and EV audience needs a closer look before you commit to a booth.

What the Detroit event actually covers

Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo is an Informa Markets event presented alongside The Battery Show. The official website also uses the shorter name EV Tech Expo; its 2026 directory still carries the full Electric & Hybrid Vehicle Technology Expo North America name. You are looking at the same North American event, not a separate consumer car show. Official event website · 2026 event directory

The exhibition covers the technologies used to develop and manufacture batteries and electric vehicles. Its published scope includes EV systems and testing equipment, with battery cells, pack assembly and charging infrastructure also represented. That breadth matters for your test equipment: the event offers a relevant industrial setting, but not every company on the floor works on electric drives. Expo overview

Treat the battery side as a related market to investigate. A machine built for motor testing does not become a battery test system because both buyers attend the same event. Your display should make the actual test application clear before someone starts a conversation.

October 12 is not an extra exhibition day

The 2026 event runs October 12–15 at Huntington Place, 1 Washington Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan. Use this Detroit venue when making arrangements, even if an older listing points you toward Novi. Organizer’s current event calendar

The organizer separates the workshop day from the three expo days:

ProgramPublished dates and hours
WorkshopMonday, October 12, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
ExpoTuesday, October 13, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
ExpoWednesday, October 14, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
ExpoThursday, October 15, 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

These are the published visitor program hours, not your installation schedule. The public exhibitor FAQ lists move-in dates as still to be determined. Obtain your assigned access times before arranging delivery of a test rig. Venue and hours · Exhibitor FAQ

Conference programming also runs October 13–15. If your application engineer plans to attend sessions, arrange booth coverage around the current agenda rather than assuming that person will be available all day.

An engineering audience, with more than one reason to visit

The organizer identifies design and application engineers among its attendees, alongside R&D, manufacturing and quality professionals. Purchasing staff and executives are also part of the audience. For your team, that supports a technical conversation about how a test is performed and where the equipment would fit into a customer's work. It does not establish how many visitors have an electric-drive testing project. Who attends

The sales page promotes access to vehicle and battery companies, but its linked attendee snapshot is labeled 2025. Use that material to understand the event's background, not to promise your sales team meetings with named companies in 2026. Why exhibit

Start with the official 2026 exhibitor directory, then check relevant companies against your own prospective accounts. Use the 2026 floor plan to see where those companies are located. Exhibitors can be competitors or potential partners as well as customers. A listing gives you a company to investigate; it does not tell you who will visit your booth. If your case for exhibiting depends on a few particular engineering teams, confirm those conversations directly before choosing a larger display.

The show offers ways to explain a test, not just display a machine

The New Product Showcase is described as a series of 15-minute demonstrations at exhibitor booths. The expo also has an Open Tech Forum and sponsor-hosted Battery Tech Theater presentations. These are distinct opportunities: renting booth space should not be treated as confirmation of a speaking or showcase slot. Ask the event team about participation and remaining availability. Show-floor programs

BRINC 40x50 custom booth with black, teal and white tower, illuminated frame, large screen, demo displays and meeting area at IACP 2025

For a test-equipment supplier, a useful demonstration could follow one measurement from the component under test to the result on screen. Explain what the engineer can conclude from that result. A cabinet with a rotating animation may attract attention without showing whether the equipment suits the visitor's task.

A full operating rig is only worth transporting if it explains something a static setup cannot. Before selecting it, send the organizer the equipment footprint and electrical demand. Describe any energized components and moving parts, then obtain the applicable show and venue instructions. These are planning recommendations, not a claim that a particular demonstration has been approved.

What you can confirm before booking

The public exhibitor FAQ directs companies to sales for booth options and availability. Cancellation and payment terms belong to the individual booth contract. Ask for the offer that applies to your selected space and confirm which services it includes before treating it as a complete exhibiting budget. Exhibitor FAQ

As checked on September 7, 2026, the public Exhibitor Center still says the 2026 portal is being prepared. That page is not a complete technical manual. Ask Client Services for the current manual and service-order access; do not infer from the public placeholder that confirmed exhibitors have received no further instructions. Exhibitor Center

Keep a static explanation of your test ready while the operating setup is being assessed. Equipment choice, freight and booth design should follow the requirements for your actual demonstration.

FAQ

Can we simply attend and promote our equipment without a booth?

Check the registration category before booking. The official FAQ identifies a non-exhibiting supplier category. A visitor pass should not be assumed to grant the same selling opportunities as an exhibitor contract; ask registration what your proposed activity permits. Visitor FAQ

Does an Explorer Pass include the full conference?

No. The published Explorer Pass covers the expo and its show-floor features. Conference access depends on the pass tier; workshops have their own access conditions. If booth staff also want to attend technical sessions, confirm their badge entitlements before purchasing additional passes. Pass options

Does appearing in the New Product Showcase validate our test results?

No. Participation is a presentation opportunity. It does not by itself establish independent verification of a performance claim. Label the conditions behind the results you show, and distinguish a recorded test from a live measurement. This is a recommendation about explaining your own evidence, not an event certification rule.

Make the booth decision around a real test application

Before reserving space, choose the electric-drive test you want visitors to understand. Send that demonstration outline with your preferred booth location to the event team. Proceed when the space and operating conditions support that explanation—and your intended customer conversations justify bringing it to Detroit.
