Getting your surf accessories into more U.S. shops takes more than showing buyers a good product. You need to meet stores that can sell your range. Surf Expo brings that retail conversation to Orlando; this guide explains its audience, upcoming editions and what to check before booking a booth.
A wholesale trade show with surfing at its core
Surf Expo is an Emerald event for the coastal lifestyle market. It admits qualified trade visitors, including retailers, exhibiting manufacturers and media; it is not open to the general public. About the show, Emerald event portfolio.

The name can make the floor sound narrower than it is. Shoreline Outdoor and Boutique sit alongside Surf. Gift & Decor, Resort and Souvenir broaden the mix further. The Surf category itself includes hardgoods and accessories as well as apparel. Official category descriptions.
For your leash or board-bag range, Surf is the sensible category to discuss first with the sales team. A beach theme alone does not make a shop a useful prospect: a souvenir store selling vacation keepsakes may have little reason to stock technical board accessories. Look for stores whose existing merchandise gives your product a place on the shelf.
That distinction matters because the buyer audience extends beyond surf shops. The organizer also addresses resort and boutique buyers, with hotel, cruise-line and theme-park retail among the channels it names. These are opportunities to investigate, not confirmation that any particular account will attend. Who the show serves.
Surf Expo dates for 2026 and 2027
As checked on September 7, 2026, the next show runs September 16–18, 2026. The following edition is January 6–8, 2027. Both are listed at the Orange County Convention Center, West Concourse, in Orlando, Florida. Official dates and location.

Both editions follow a Wednesday–Friday pattern. The published hours are 9 a.m.–6 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, then 9 a.m.–4 p.m. on Friday, local Orlando time. Show schedule.
September is close. If your samples or U.S. wholesale offer are still unfinished, January gives you a later date to assess with the organizer. That is a preparation decision, not a claim that January has better buyers. The two dates alone cannot tell you which edition your target stores prefer or when they plan to place orders.
For either edition, ask a few prospective stockists when they need your products delivered. If the dates you can supply miss their selling season, being ready for the exhibition will not solve the sales problem.
What makes the floor useful for a surf accessories brand
The official September floor-plan page links to that edition's map and exhibitor directory. Use those to examine where comparable merchandise sits before requesting a location. An exhibitor directory shows participating brands; it is not a list of buyers who have promised to visit you. September floor plan and directory.

Your strongest presentation may be a small range that a store can actually order. Let someone compare the leash lengths side by side, then see the packaging they would hang in the shop. For board bags, leave enough room to open a sample and inspect the padding rather than displaying every bag zipped shut against a wall. These are display suggestions for your range, not show-mandated layouts.
Keep a line sheet beside those samples with your wholesale prices and opening-order terms. Make delivery timing easy to find. A retailer should be able to work out which items belong in an initial order without hearing your entire company history.
If your offer is still solely private-label production with no defined retail assortment, pause before treating this as your main sourcing fair. The verified audience is built around retail buying. Ask the category sales team whether the business you want to win is represented, rather than assuming a busy coastal-lifestyle show will supply manufacturing contracts.
Check the September booth package before designing around it
Freeman's September 2026 page describes a standard 10 × 10 ft booth with white back and side drapes, both 8 ft high. It also says that the exhibit area and aisles are uncarpeted. Those are current package details, not permission to build any structure up to the drape height. September 2026 Freeman information.

For a rack of long board bags, check the rack and its base against the space you have actually contracted. Ask for the rules that apply to your booth type before committing to tall fixtures or an overhead sign. If a product demonstration needs water, send the proposed demonstration to show operations for approval before incorporating it into the design.
Start from the show's current Exhibitor Resources page to reach the service manual and order services. Use the September kit for September; obtain the January kit for January. Dates being announced for both shows does not establish identical booth rules or service deadlines. Exhibitor Resources.
Questions before you apply
Can I attend without a booth to assess the show?
There is a Non-Exhibiting Manufacturer route for eligible industry visitors. The published fee is $2,000 per person, limited to two people per company and one show. Distributing materials and soliciting on the floor are prohibited. The organizer also says future attendance requires taking booth space. This route is for evaluating the show, not selling from the aisles. NEM conditions.
Can I arrange buyer meetings before arriving?
The organizer describes CONNECT as a way to message registered buyers and request appointments. Badge registration is required first. Use the current exhibitor instructions to access it, and treat a request as tentative until the buyer accepts. CONNECT with Buyers.
Where should a first-time exhibitor ask about space?
Use the new-exhibitor route on the official Request Info About Exhibiting page. Send your product range and preferred edition, then ask about category placement and available space. The inquiry page is not confirmation that a suitable booth remains available. Exhibiting inquiry.
How much does a Surf Expo booth cost?
Request a quote for your chosen edition and booth size from the exhibitor sales team. Ask which furnishings are included and which services are charged separately. An old exhibitor-package PDF or a contractor’s estimate does not establish your current space rental price. Get those costs confirmed before approving the display budget.
Decide which stores you want to approach
Before applying, choose the surf shops you want to approach and put together the opening assortment you would offer them. Use that range when discussing the show with its sales team. Once the audience and edition fit, plan the booth around letting those retailers handle the products and talk through an order.
