Greenbuild International Conference + Expo 2026: Exhibitor Guide

Your acoustic panels may look right for a green building project, but will the Greenbuild Expo put them in front of people who select materials? Here is what the 2026 event offers, how its audience changes the booth conversation, and what to check before you commit to exhibiting.

Greenbuild 2026 dates: New York, with two Expo days

Greenbuild combines a professional green building conference with an exhibition. It is an Informa Connect event presented in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The 2026 theme, Invest for impact, covers both new development and work on existing buildings. Official Greenbuild website

The advertised conference and expo dates are October 20–23, 2026, at the Javits Center in New York City. The Expo runs October 21–22. Those are the dates for your booth meetings; the wider conference dates do not mean four days of exhibition traffic. 2026 registration

The organizer identifies the North building, with an entrance at 11th Avenue and 37th Street. Give visiting colleagues the event-specific entrance rather than only the convention center's name. Greenbuild FAQ

The useful conversation starts before a purchase order

Greenbuild's published audience includes architects and people who specify materials, alongside building owners and operators. Its 2026 audience page names design firms including Gensler and Perkins&Will. These are organizer-listed participants, not appointments or a promise that any particular person will visit your booth. For an acoustic panel manufacturer, that makes Greenbuild worth considering when your goal is to get a product evaluated for future projects. Someone may like the finish, yet still need to understand how the panel attaches or which test report covers it. A useful discussion can end with a request for a sample assembly rather than a price negotiation.

Bring an example that opens that discussion. A removable wall section can show the face, edge and fixing method without making visitors imagine the finished installation. Keep the relevant test information beside it. This is a display recommendation, not a claim that Greenbuild requires that particular sample.

If your team can only quote a container price and cannot answer project questions afterward, a large booth is premature. This audience gives you a reason to prepare for specification conversations; it does not establish demand for your exact panel.

Inside the Greenbuild Expo: exhibitors and floor plan

The current 2026 directory lists AKUSTUS and Armstrong World Industries as well as Armatherm and Airthings. That mix helps place interior materials within a broader building-performance event. It does not tell you how much business those exhibitors generate. Use the live directory and floor plan to examine your own category before discussing a booth location. 2026 exhibitor directory and floor plan

That breadth matters: Greenbuild is not solely an interiors exhibition. Your acoustic display has to explain its place in a building project, rather than assume everyone is there to choose wall finishes.

Greenbuild also puts learning on the exhibition floor. Education Labs offer supplier-developed educational content, while the GBCI Certification Work Zone provides project teams with reviewer meetings. For your panel display, the practical implication is to leave room for a conversation over product details. A visitor coming from a technical session should have somewhere to ask a specific question. Inside the Expo Hall

The organizer is introducing a Technology pavilion in 2026 with a demonstration stage. It also offers an Innovation Stage. Do not assume a panel belongs in the technology area because it carries a sustainability claim. Ask the sales team where material suppliers fit and whether a separate presentation opportunity is available; confirm any stage access separately in writing. Exhibiting opportunities

GMEGG applies to your booth, too

Greenbuild publicly identifies GMEGG as a mandatory exhibitor sustainability initiative to complete before arrival. Its overview covers lighting, booth literature and staff transportation. Selling a product with an environmental benefit does not complete that work for your exhibit. Exhibitor sustainability

When reviewing a wall-panel display with your booth builder, ask how it comes apart and where the samples go afterward. Removable fixings may let you reuse the same assembly in a showroom. A return plan is more useful than deciding at dismantling that a large sample is too awkward to ship home.

Obtain the current GMEGG instructions and 2026 exhibitor service manual before approving the build. Confirm the permitted dimensions and any approval needed for your assembly. If you want to run amplified sound, describe the demonstration to show operations first. This guide does not establish the show's sound limits or grant permission for that demonstration.

The public sustainability page also contains 2025 Los Angeles material. Treat that as history. It cannot establish this year's New York move-in times or detailed material rules.

FAQ

Can we label a panel “LEED-certified” at Greenbuild?

No. USGBC says LEED does not certify products. Explain the documentation your panel can provide for a project instead, and check any proposed contribution against that project's rating system and selected credits. Exhibiting alongside USGBC does not change the product's status. USGBC guidance for product manufacturers

Can we buy the official attendee list from a third party?

Greenbuild says it does not sell or distribute attendee lists to third-party vendors. An unsolicited list offer is therefore not a reliable way to obtain official Greenbuild contacts. Verify a claimed partnership with the organizer before relying on it for outreach. Greenbuild's attendee-list notice

What should we ask for when requesting a booth quote?

Give the sales team your preferred footprint and explain that you plan to show a wall assembly. Ask for a written breakdown of what the space includes and which services need separate orders. The public exhibiting page directs companies to its sales team and prospectus; it is not an itemized quote for your exhibit. Exhibit prospectus request

Decide around the sample you can support

Choose one panel assembly and have your technical colleague review what you can explain about it. If you can support a design team's next questions, take that display idea to Greenbuild's sales team and request the current exhibitor documents. If the answers are still missing, resolve them before committing to a larger exhibit.
