Your marine electronics can look convincing on a demonstration screen, but where will boat owners stop to try them? The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show brings that decision into focus: its convention center and waterfront displays offer different settings for introducing your equipment.
What FLIBS offers an electronics brand
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, or FLIBS, is owned by the Marine Industries Association of South Florida and produced by Informa Markets. It combines boats on the water with land-based exhibits. This is a public boat show with marine industry participation, so your booth needs to make sense to someone buying equipment for their own boat. It is not a trade-only purchasing event. Official overview and visitor information.

That makes it a plausible choice if you sell finished equipment whose value an owner can see during a short demonstration. A visitor trying a chartplotter can judge whether its controls feel intuitive. Your team can then discuss whether it suits that visitor's boat and who can install it. Those are suggested conversations, not a forecast of who will visit your stand.
If your only objective is negotiating supply contracts with boatbuilders, do not justify an exhibit using total attendance. Establish which companies you can actually meet before committing to a booth. A busy public show and a concentrated OEM buying audience solve different problems.
When and where is FLIBS 2026?
FLIBS is scheduled for October 28–November 1, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The organizer's August 4, 2026 announcement describes six show sites. Some older website copy still refers to seven; use the current edition's information when planning your visit. 2026 announcement.

The current show overview names Broward County Convention Center, Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Hall of Fame Marina, Las Olas Marina, Pier Sixty-Six Marina, and Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty-Six South. These are separate locations, not sections of a single exhibition hall. Show overview and maps.
Public hours are noon–7 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday. These are visitor hours; obtain your own installation and delivery schedule separately. Exhibitor resource guide.
Where your product belongs within the show
Start the location discussion with the Broward County Convention Center. Its indoor exhibits include smaller recreational boats and marine accessories, alongside fishing and family activities. That mix gives an owner-facing electronics brand a concrete product setting to evaluate. The building also serves as a transport hub, but being near an arrival point does not prove that the people passing your booth want your equipment. Convention center.

For a compact helm display, ask the sales team where visitors can spend time trying the controls without blocking the aisle. Request the proposed location on the current floor plan before deciding how much demonstration counter to build. The useful comparison is between specific available spaces, rather than an indoor-versus-outdoor preference alone.
Bahia Mar deserves a separate inquiry. The exhibitor sales page identifies an electronics tent among its sales categories. That is a reason to ask about placement there, not proof of a vacant space or a confirmed 2026 neighbor. The same page retains older edition wording, so have the sales team confirm the current category and available location. Exhibit at FLIBS.
Superyacht Village has a different emphasis: large yachts and associated luxury displays. Its setting may matter if your equipment requires a yacht-level installation conversation. It offers a weaker starting point for a compact recreational product simply seeking broad owner interest. Proximity to a large yacht does not establish access to its purchasing team. Superyacht Village.
Turn the proposed space into a workable demonstration
Once you have a location under discussion, describe what the electronics will actually do during the show. A screen running recorded navigation footage has different needs from equipment relying on a live connection. Ask about the power supply and internet service for that particular stand. If either is essential, get the answer before making the demonstration the centerpiece of your display.

The terms linked from the current exhibitor guide do not guarantee your requested placement when you submit a booking form. They also require designated contractors for certain services, including utilities. Obtain the applicable service details before treating an outside booth contractor's quote as the complete cost. FLIBS exhibition terms, sections 2.1 and 3.3.
For a tent or waterfront position, ask what shelter and overnight arrangements come with the space. Check your actual display equipment against those conditions. This is a planning recommendation, not a claim that FLIBS supplies weather protection or allows equipment to remain powered overnight.
The public resource guide directs exhibitors to a service portal. It does not supply enough information to settle every stand's construction limits or delivery arrangements. Request the current instructions for your assigned site; do not adopt a previous year's manual for a different FLIBS location.
FLIBS exhibitor FAQ
Can we share a booth with our local installer?
The linked exhibition terms require the organizer's prior written consent for sharing space with a third party. Ask before presenting a joint booth as agreed. Explain who will exhibit and how the two businesses will be identified. A commercial relationship with an installer is not itself permission to share the space. Exhibition terms, section 7.7.
Can a ticket guarantee access to a boat fitted with our equipment?
No. Vessel access is controlled by the exhibitor, manufacturer, or broker. Arrange any onboard product viewing directly with the business displaying the boat. Do not promise visitors a walk-through until the host has agreed to receive them. Official visitor FAQ.
Can we check which electronics brands are exhibiting in 2026?
As checked on September 7, 2026, the official 2026 directory page still says it is coming soon. Use older lists for background only. Ask the show team about the current directory and confirm individual brands before describing them as this year's exhibitors. 2026 directory.
How much does a FLIBS booth cost?
The public exhibitor page directs you to request display and slip rates. It does not give one booth price that can be applied to your project. Request a written quote for the specific space, then check which services it includes. Keep an admission ticket price separate from the cost of exhibiting. Exhibitor inquiry and rates.
Make the location decision first
Ask the FLIBS sales team to compare a suitable convention-center position with an available electronics-category space at Bahia Mar. Send a photo of the product demonstration and explain the boat owner you need to reach. If neither location supports that conversation, reconsider the exhibit before paying for a larger display.
