Deepwater Operations Conference 2026: Is It Right for Your Equipment?

The Deepwater Operations Conference & Exhibition addresses the operation and maintenance of offshore facilities. The co-located Topsides, Platforms & Hulls conference covers their design and delivery. For your equipment team, these subjects lead to different conversations: improving a platform already in service, or having equipment specified for a new project. About the conferences

The two conferences share an exhibition at Moody Gardens Hotel & Convention Center in Galveston, Texas, November 3–5, 2026. Official event website

The venue is in Galveston, so allow for the transfer if you fly into Houston. The official travel page lists both William P. Hobby Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Check the hotel and travel information alongside the program before booking.

Do not treat the three event dates as three identical days of exhibition. Tuesday has an opening reception; the main daytime exhibition follows on Wednesday and Thursday. The preliminary schedule and detailed program currently give different Thursday opening times, so confirm that detail with the organizer before arranging a morning appointment. Preliminary schedule

What you can learn from the 2026 program

The published program moves between operating problems and specific offshore projects. For a supplier, that is useful because it shows where a product needs more explanation than a specification sheet can provide. The sessions below are scheduled topics, not findings from a conference that has already taken place. 2026 conference program

Digital tools have to work on existing assets

A digital-strategy panel brings together perspectives from Chevron, Shell, and Woodside. Another scheduled talk examines AI-assisted corrosion assessment. Together, these topics make the event relevant to suppliers of monitoring equipment and inspection technology, as well as software.

If that is your market, bring an example showing what happens after the equipment collects data. Can a maintenance team use the result to identify a repair location or choose what to inspect next? Explain what information the customer must already have and what your system adds. A demonstration that stops at a colorful dashboard leaves the most useful part of that conversation unanswered.

Inspection and robotics are substantial parts of the discussion

BP is scheduled to discuss small remotely operated vehicles, or ROVs, used for subsea inspection. Shell’s program contributions include remote intervention and inspection of insulated subsea pipelines. These subjects connect the conference to equipment used to reach, inspect, and maintain assets that are difficult to access.

For this audience, the limits of a demonstration matter. Show the conditions your equipment has actually been tested under, what an operator receives from an inspection, and where another method is still needed. Do not turn a successful demonstration on an exposed sample into a claim about performance through insulation or underwater. Those are different questions that your technical team must be able to answer.

The companion conference adds project and platform decisions

Topsides, Platforms & Hulls includes work on existing facilities as well as new developments. The current agenda includes deck-capacity recovery at Delta House, the Scarborough floating production unit, and engineering for the Leviathan expansion. Later sessions include Mexico and project experience from other offshore regions.

That matters if your equipment is selected during engineering rather than bought as a maintenance replacement. You may need drawings and information about connections to surrounding equipment more than a broad product catalog. Read the relevant session descriptions with your engineer, then decide whether you are offering a product for a new design or a change to an operating facility. The evidence you bring should match that choice.

Who the exhibition is likely to suit

The organizer describes an audience drawn from operating companies, contractors, equipment suppliers, service providers, and regulators. That is a useful indication of the event’s focus, but it does not establish how many purchasing contacts you will meet. A speaker’s employer is also not proof that the company will send a buying team. Event overview

The exhibition’s listed subjects include condition monitoring, control systems, corrosion control, subsea equipment, and pumps. Read these as areas of relevance rather than a guaranteed list of what every booth will display. The organizer links a current exhibitor directory and floor plan from its exhibition page.

An equipment supplier with a documented offshore application has a clearer reason to exhibit than a company relying only on the fact that its products can serve oil and gas. For example, an inspection-equipment supplier can connect directly to the program’s inspection discussions. A general industrial supplier still needs to explain which platform problem its product addresses and provide evidence for that use.

If you cannot yet make that connection, attending the conference first is a reasonable choice. You can learn which questions operators raise and which firms work alongside them before committing to an exhibit. If you already know the application and have customers or partners to invite, an exhibit gives those conversations a place to continue.

Registration and exhibit costs

The published 2026 exhibit-space rate is USD 42 per square foot, with an additional USD 2 per square foot for premium island space. At the standard rate, 100 square feet calculates to USD 4,200 for space; this is an illustration, not confirmation that a particular booth is available. It is also not a complete exhibiting budget. Obtain the current service details before adding freight, display production, utilities, and travel to your estimate. Exhibit information

If your first priority is listening to technical discussions, the individual full-conference package covers both conferences and the exhibition. The fee page lists USD 1,065 through the early-registration deadline of October 2, 2026, and USD 1,165 at full price. Check the current registration terms before payment. Conference packages

For an exhibiting team, allocate access by role. The exhibition page lists one full-conference registration and two booth-staff registrations per 100 square feet. These are different badge types: confirm who needs to attend sessions and who will stay with the display. Give the colleague who will attend technical sessions conference access, and keep someone available at the booth while those sessions run.

FAQs

Will the conference papers be available afterward?

The organizer says proceedings will not be published and press cannot attend the sessions. Do not assume a colleague can skip the conference and catch up through a public proceedings library. Assign the person who needs the technical discussion to attend, and ask about permission before sharing presentation material. Conference format

Can attending count toward professional development?

The registration page states that verified conference attendees can earn nine professional development hours and receive a certificate after the event. Confirm the applicable attendance conditions with the organizer and whether your own licensing body accepts the credit; a purchased badge alone should not be treated as completed attendance. Is an attendee list offered by another company official?

The organizer explicitly warns against buying attendee lists from outside organizations and says Endeavor Business Media does not publicly share its event attendee lists. Do not build a prospecting plan around a third party’s claim to have an official list. Use your existing contacts and ask event staff about permitted ways to connect. Does a conference registration include the fishing tournament?

The November 3 fishing tournament requires separate registration. Treat it as an optional networking activity when allocating time and budget, and verify availability through the organizer before including it in your team’s itinerary. Event schedule

Final Thoughts

When you need a compact display for offshore equipment discussions, KingExhibits can help you plan the layout and build. Share your Deepwater Operations exhibit dimensions, approved product visuals and any physical samples you intend to bring. We can discuss how to present the application and leave room for technical conversations, with the equipment and venue constraints considered before design approval.
